Has there been a moment in time where you find yourself wishing that you had a wagon that could take you to that special fishing spot and do some track time? That wish could be coming true.
German publication Auto Bild reports that Audi is planning to mashup the A6 Allroad and RS6 Avant into the RS6 Allroad. This model would feature the 4.0L twin-turbo V8 found in the RS6 with 553 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. There would also be an increase in ride height and body cladding coming from the Allroad.
Here is the interesting bit about the RS6 Allroad, Audi is only planning on selling it in China. Why? The Chinese market has a thing for high-performance off-road vehicles. Being the A6 Allroad is positioned as a light off-roader, doing a high-performance version is somewhat a no-brainer.
If this rumor proves to be true, expect to see it before Audi introduces the next-generation A6 - expected to debut in 2018.
