Rumored: Mercedes-Benz SLC Could Be Shown the Door

Last month, Mercedes-Benz boss Dieter Zetsche said the brand would be doing some pruning to their lineup, with a primary focus on niche models such as coupes and convertibles.

A new report from Automobile Magazine has purportedly learned about some of the models being cut. At the top of that list is the SLC. The small two-seat roadster has been kicked off the plans for the next model cycle. This cut is not really surprising as Mercedes only moves 300 models on average per month.

Another model possibly being cut is the S-Class coupe and cabriolet. According to the report, the next-generation SL-Class is expected to grow in size from a two-seat cabriolet to a 2+2. It will also swap the retractable hardtop for a softtop. With two models being similar in size, this cut makes a lot of sense. To make up for this, the next-generation C-Class and E-Class coupe and cabriolet will move up slightly in terms of size and price.
