Later this year will see the Hyundai Genesis change its name the Genesis G80. Here is what you need to know.
The G80's exterior and interior haven't changed much in terms of design. As for features, all G80s come with 12-way power front seats, leather upholstery with heat, dual-zone automatic climate control system, and an eight-inch screen with navigation and compatibility for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The options list features a panoramic sunroof, genuine wood/aluminum trim, Lexicon 17-speaker system, and a larger 9.2-inch infotainment system.
Power comes from either a 3.8L V6 (311 horsepower and 293 pound-feet of torque) or a 5.0L V8 (420 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque). Sadly, the 3.3L twin-turbo V6 found under the hood of the G90 will not be offered in the G80. Both engines come with an eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive. H-Trac all-wheel drive will be an option for the V6.
On the safety front, the G80 features Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Departure Warning, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop/Start as standard.
Genesis is keeping quiet on the pricing for the 2017 G80 for the time being. Expect it closer to launch of the G80 later this year.
