The Takata airbag recall has possibly become the largest automotive recall with scores of automakers fixing vehicles with airbags that could send metal fragments towards occupants in the crash. Sadly, 13 people have been killed and more than 100 people have been injured due to the faulty airbags.

Ferrari is the latest to announce a recall dealing with Takata airbags. A select number of 2009 - 2011 Ferrari Californias built between February 16, 2009, to July 8, 2011, and 2010 - 2011 458 Italias built between March 5, 2010, to July 29, 2011. Owners will be contacted by Ferrari about the recall. Dealers will replace front passenger airbag assembly free of charge.

At the time of this writing, we don't have a total number of vehicles involved in this recall or a notification schedule. If you are an owner of one of the affected Ferrari models and have concerns, you are asked to call Ferrari's customer service at 1-856-551-2828 and mention recall number 60.
