A multi-billion dollar deal means that SIXT will buy 250,000 Stellantis vehicles to use in their rental fleets worldwide.

Rental company SIXT will soon begin offering more Stellantis vehicles like Jeep, Dodge and Ram SUVs and trucks thanks to a multi-billion dollar agreement. The plan calls for SIXT to buy up to 250,000 vehicles by 2026 for its rental fleets in North America and Europe.

Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis: “Within our iconic brands, we offer a vehicle that fits practically every need, price point, and lifestyle. This partnership with SIXT enables current and potential Stellantis brand customers to immerse themselves in our newest offerings with the most advanced propulsion, vehicle connectivity and thoughtful comfort. It’s the ultimate test drive and a critical checkpoint for us in the upcoming years as Stellantis transforms into a sustainable mobility tech company.”

The Agreement is a Win-Win for SIXT and Stellantis

Tavares says the new agreement will help Stellantis “Deliver on our commitments to offer the customer clean, safe and affordable mobility seen now in breakthrough vehicles and technology.” Konstantin Sixt, Co-CEO of SIXT says “This agreement with Stellantis, a progressive full range partner, underscores our promise to provide our customers with the best choice for all their mobility needs. It enables us to accelerate our growth strategy ‘EXPECT BETTER’, after already achieving global revenue growth of almost 20 percent in the first nine months of 2023. This ambition applies to European countries, but of course also to the U.S., the largest rental market in the world and the most important growth market for our company.”

The Agreement is Also Great for Customers

The agreement will be great for customers who want drive their favorite brands or perhaps try out some of the new vehicles before actually having to buy one. How frequently have you gone to a rental car company to get a vehicle and found that they don’t even carry some of your favorite brands? In some markets, it is hard to rent an American-made vehicle.

Stellantis is promising to make a wide range of vehicles available to SIXT including Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Ram and Maserati. The deliveries to SIXT will include a variety of classes from city cars to SUVs to vans and trucks (including 7- and 9-seaters) as well as a full range of engine types (including battery electric vehicles) featuring the latest software and infotainment tech features.

As part of the agreement SIXT may also start using some of Stellantis’ fleet monitoring software. The new vehicles will include a number of fully connected vehicles in the SIXT rental fleet.  That means that data such as fuel level and mileage can automatically be transmitted to SIXT when a vehicle is returned. This would allow SIXT to streamline handling at branches. Eventually, customers should see faster processing while renting and returning their chosen vehicles.
