Chevrolet increases some truck prices and admits that range anxiety is still a huge issue with EVs.
Chevrolet is updating the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV, offering more different trims packages and range choices. The work truck will have a Max Range package that delivers up to 492 Miles of range. Now, buyers will be able to get the truck that best suits their needs. One work truck will sticker for as low as $57,095 and it may qualify for the federal tax credit of $7,500.
“Truck customers tell us range is one of the main barriers to considering an EV. The 2024 Silverado EV already was the range leader, and for this new model year we’ve set the bar even higher,” said Scott Bell, vice president, Chevrolet. “A second barrier to entry is price, so we are fortifying the Silverado EV lineup by providing more choice. For 2025, we’re introducing an LT trim, offering a more affordable RST package and expanding WT offerings. This increased capability and accessibility is great news for the segment, the industry, and the brand.”
2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV
The 2025 Silverado EV will be built on GM’s Ultium battery platform and offered in new distinct trim packages. The Silverado EV offers new technology, range, and design packages across Work Truck, LT and RST trims. The LT will add a little luxury for drivers who want both a work horse and a family vehicle.
The LT offers the following standard content:
- Up to 765 lb.-ft. torque and 645 horsepower with Wide Open Watts mode
- Standard Multi-Flex Tailgate
- 408 miles of range on a full charge
- Standard 18-inch aluminum wheels, but new 22-inch wheels will be available later in the model year
- Unique front fascia and exterior lighting, including illuminated front gold bowtie
- Standard Multi-Flex Tailgate
- Standard 17.7-inch-diagonal center infotainment screen paired with 11 inch-diagonal driver informational center
- 12,500 lb. towing capacity and 1,800 lb. payload
- 300 kW DC public fast charging
A Premium LT Package will be available later in the model year and adds more features:
- Available Multi-Flex Midgate, which offers up to 10 feet and 10 inches of load floor when paired with the standard Multi-Flex Tailgate.
- Available Super Cruise
- 22-inch machined aluminum wheels
- 390 miles of range on a full charge
It seems odd to me that the premium package would have slightly less range that the LT trim, but Chevrolet doesn’t comment on why that might be.
2025 Silverado EV Lineup pricing
- Work Truck with standard range $57,095 (range est. due later in the model year)

- LT with Extended Range of 390 miles and LT Premium Package $81,995
- RST with Extended Range of 390 miles $89,395

The Work Truck will be available to commercial customers and will launch with a starting MSRP of $69,4952 for the extended range battery pack, offering 422 miles of range. Later in the model year, a Work Truck with the standard range battery pack will join the lineup for fleet and retail customers and will be available with a starting MSRP of $57,095.
