2025 Chevrolet Silverados are one their way to dealers now. See why the truck wars are continuing to heat up.

The latest round in the pickup truck wars is getting underway with the 2025 models starting to ship to dealers. Pickups are huge profit centers for the automakers. They are less labor intensive to build and generate more profit per vehicle than other models in the lineup. The 2025 Chevrolet Silverados are on their way to the dealers. Chevy is following another truck maker’s lead and offering trucks with factory-installed lift kits, in hopes of keeping its sales lead in full-size truck sales.

Chevrolet is focusing on the capability and affordability of its new models. Off-roading is still huge in the truck sector and Chevy is building on its off-road reputation. All of the truck makers point to a specific model as being the most affordable. For Chevy, it claims it has the most affordable factory-lifted, full-size, light-duty truck in the industry. The Silverado Custom Trail Boss arrives complete with a factory-installed two-inch lift and Z71 suspension.

The 2025 Silverado has three models that are geared toward off-roading. While the Custom Trail Boss and the LT Trail Boss feature a lift straight from the factory, the ZR2 is designed to excel at being on the trail. The entire ZR2 package is built for handling the great outdoors and getting around off-road obstacles.

2025 Chevrolet Silverado Engine Options

Silverado also has a range of available engine options. While other automakers are moving away from diesels, Silverado features the Duramax 3.0L Inline-Six Turbodiesel. Truck buyers who are driven by fuel economy may want to consider the diesel option. Silverado’s 3.0L Duramax inline-six turbodiesel is rated for an EPA-estimated 624 miles of range with best-in-class highway fuel economy. That is based on the EPA mpg rating of 23 city, 29 highway. Of course, drivers may see different results.

Silverado still features the largest, most powerful naturally aspirated available V8 in the segment. Chevy’s 6.2L V8 kicks out 420 horsepower and has 460 lb.-ft. of torque.

Silverado also has its TurboMax engine that has been well received. The TurboMax is a four-cylinder with a turbo. Previously, Chevrolet has described the engine this way.

“TurboMax is built like a diesel: it’s durable and packs turbocharged performance to win over both diesel and V-8 customers alike,” said Kevin Luchansky, assistant chief engineer, 2.7L Turbo Engine. “The TurboMax name encapsulates the modern engineering, manufacturing and controls which shuts the door on arguments against turbocharged engines from decades ago.”

“TurboMax will be available across the Silverado lineup, from WT to LT Trail Boss to cover a variety of truck owners’ needs. With a best-in-class 430 lb.-ft. of torque and 310 horsepower, and available 9,500-pound Max Tow, this engine will power Silverado to tow, haul and hit the trails with the confidence customers expect.”

Other 2025 Chevrolet Silverado Features

The Chevrolet Silverado will be available in two new colors, cypress gray and riptide blue.

Towing is huge in the truck segment and the Silverado will be capable of hands-free trailering if the buyer opts for the Super Cruise driver assistance technology. It can even change lanes while operating hands-free.

Silverado is available with eight cameras with up to 14 views, including transparent trailer. The transparent trailer technology uses a camera on the back of whatever is being towed so the driver can see what is behind them as if the trailer wasn’t there.
