The new Ram 1500 TRX is a hot topic of conversation for truck lovers and we wanted to show you the luxurious interior on the high-horsepower truck.
The head of Ram’s interior design department, Ryan Nagode, wanted to make sure that the interior of the new 2021 Ram 1500 TRX was equally as spectacular as the exterior of the new off-roader. He says that the new TRX is a halo product not just for Ram but for all of Fiat-Chrysler and needs to reflect that. His department added custom features and premium materials to make the Ram TRX stand out, not just because of its 702-horsepower 6.2-liter HEMI engine.
Nagode is the designer credited with upgrading the interior of the 2019 Ram 1500. The interior earned the truck the nickname of “the Ritz-Carlton on Wheels”. The truck won all sorts of awards for its luxurious interior and truck redesign overall.
TRX Features Three Interior Options
The all-new TRX features three different interior packages. All are said to feature premium materials. It is even possible to opt for hand-wrapped leather instrument panels to add even more luxury.
- The TR package is based on the Rebel layout. The seats will be premium cloth with vinyl accents featuring black and dark ruby red surfaces.
- The TR1 package is based on the Ram 1500 Limited trim. It sports an all-black color scheme with leather and suede. Natura Plus leather and perforated suede cover the heated and ventilated front bucket and rear bench seats. The package includes graphite metallic accents.
- The TR2 package gives you the same features as the TR1 but also adds TRX red stitching and carbon fiber accents as options.
Keeping the Driver’s Eyes on the Road
The 2021 Ram TRX will be debuting an all-new Head-up Display. The display appears to float directly in front of the driver on the windshield. It gives the driver the ability to see up to five different things, like the vehicle’s current speed and the speed limit, without looking down.
New Shifters for Ultimate Performance
The TRX will have a console-mounted performance floor shifter replacing the rotary shifter that was on the dashboard. Now, the drive mode buttons will be on the dash where the rotary shifter had been.
The truck will have a new performance flat-bottom steering wheel featuring paddle shifters. According to Ram “The aluminum paddle shifters stretch above and below the steering wheel spokes, allowing the driver to choose the proper gear with their fingertips.”
A custom plate on the console lid is the ultimate sign of personalization. The plate will list what makes the vehicle so very special. The plate will specify which engine is under the hood, the type of supercharger Ram TRX uses, boost output, horsepower and the vehicle-specific Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
Huge Touchscreen Controls New Features
The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX will have the popular Uconnect 4C 12-inch touchscreen. I am surprised that it isn’t getting the new Uconnect 5, but so far only the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica and the 2021 Dodge Durango are getting the newest version. The Uconnect 4C will have premium audio throughout the truck with a 900-watt, 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. The 12" touchscreen is easily configurable. You can put several different items on the screen, like audio or phone controls, where you find them the most convenient.
The 12-inch Uconnect touchscreen is also key to easily accessing new off-road pages that will give the driver more information about how the truck is handling the off-road experience. The driver can easily swipe on the touchscreen to access the different drive modes and off-road pages. Off-Road Pages show ride height, the transfer case’s position, the pitch and roll of the vehicle and accessory gauges.
Buyers can also opt for a new digital rearview mirror. It replaces the traditional rearview mirror with a 9.2-inch-wide LCD monitor. The digital rearview mirror displays video in real time from a rear-facing camera and can be turned off to revert back to a traditional reflective mirror.
These are just some of the many custom touches inside the all-new 2021 Ram 1500 TRX. Many more details will be released as the truck gets closer to launch.
