General Motors is reporting a huge drop in profits and is considering killing as many as six sedans. The automaker is hoping a redesign of the trusty 2018 Chevrolet Traverse can spur renewed interest in the crossover.
Chevrolet is hoping the redesigned 2018 Traverse will spur interest in the crossover market after yet another month of lackluster sales. This week the automaker reported that profits are down more than 40 percent compared to last year at this time. Sales for nearly all of the automakers have fallen compared to a year ago when sales were soaring.
GM says the redesigned 2018 Chevrolet Traverse will start at $30,875. That does not include taxes, title and dealer fees. According to Chevrolet the family hauler has been reimagined from the ground up. The new Traverse will have best-in-class cargo space and more room for passengers than its competitors. The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse has seating for up to eight.
Steve Majoros, who oversees marketing for Chevy Crossovers says, “The all-new Chevrolet Traverse has a bold, new look that complements the full functionality our SUV customers demand. It’s designed to help make life on the road easier, and to look good while doing it. With creature comforts, convenience features and technologies to entertain passengers, Traverse is the total package.”
Chevrolet rolled out the 2018 Traverse mid-size SUV at the North American International Auto Show, in Detroit. It looks much more truck-like, a smaller version of the popular Suburban or Tahoe. It is sleeker and lighter than the old Traverse, but its wheelbase is longer by a couple of inches.
The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse will offer a number of different trim levels, including a sport model called the RS and a new top-of-the-line trim package called the High Country.
