The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe rocketed to the top of the plug-in hybrid charts. It is only outsold by the Jeep Wrangler 4xe.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe launched as a 2022 model, offering 25 miles of all-electric range and 56 miles per gallon equivalent or MPGe. Since then, it has become the second best-selling plug-in hybrid or PHEV. Why has the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe been so well received? One huge reason is that it is an electrified version of one of the best-selling vehicles of all time. The redesigned Jeep Grand Cherokee was one of the most anticipated vehicles ever and Jeep found a way to not just improve it but also make it attractive to a younger generation that appears intrigued by electrification and EVs. The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is a great transition vehicle for drivers who aren’t willing to make the leap to total electrification.
2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe
Grand Cherokee’s 4xe propulsion system combines two electric motors, a 400-volt battery pack, 2.0-liter turbocharged, four-cylinder engine and TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission for maximum efficiency and capability.
The Grand Cherokee 4xe’s E Selec modes – Hybrid, Electric and eSave – allow the 4xe driver to tailor the hybrid powertrain to best suit each trip, whether it be commuting, off-roading or long-distance travel. The ability to choose when you will use the electrified power is a great option because it means that you have total control. You can switch to the electric option when you are out on the trail when you want to listen to the silence. Perhaps you will save the electric option until you are arriving home late and don’t want to disturb your children or your neighbors.
The Grand Cherokee 4xe has the power and torque that drivers want as well as the space to take the whole family. Most plug-in hybrids, except for the Chrysler Pacifica minivan, are smaller or under powered vehicles. In other words, the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe has all of the positives with virtually no negatives. The driver still gets great performance, they can use electric power if they wish but there is absolutely no range anxiety. The driver isn’t forced to find a charger in the middle of the night or in terrible weather.
