Ford F-150 Developed Into Cattleman Package By Dealer

Long McArthur Ford has done it again, this time for ranchers and farmers. The dealership's MPerformance Division has created a minimally nonminimalist Ford F-150 that meets the needs of ranchers and farmers for a reliable pickup with just a bit more.

Ranchers and farmers know the value of proper tools. From ranch/farm trucks to tractors and everything else they need, ranchers and farmers purchase the best items they can get for their money. Knowing that the MPerformance Division of Long McArthur Ford in Salina, Kansas took up the challenge of creating the best and most cost-effective ranch/farm truck the could while keeping it cost-effective. Indeed, if the cost were too high, then they wouldn’t have been able to provide ranchers and farmers with the most cost-effective option. MPerformance is Long McArthur’s specialized truck tuning department. I have written extensively about Long McArthur's MPerformance products. Ford F-150 Basic Pickup To Exceptional Truck

Presented with the challenge of creating what they considered was the ultimate ranching or farming truck, MPerformance started with a basic, single-cab work truck. They decided to use a Ford F-150 with the XL trim level. There is nothing that a rancher or farmer doesn’t need. Long McArthur orders the pickup from the factory with the eight-foot bed and four-wheel-drive. The XL trim level also comes standard with Pre-Collision Assist with automatic emergency braking and a rearview camera.

The powerteam is the rugged naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V-8 high-output engine. A 10-speed automatic takes the engine’s output and sends it to the wheels through a 3.73 rear locking differential.

Ford F-150 Has Added Features

Long McArthur’s MPerformance Division added a couple of options that most ranchers or farmers will likely welcome. There is a Class IV trailer hitch and platform running boards. The hitch should be a welcomed addition because a rancher can easily install and use a horse trailer to take horses to the places on a ranch, whether it is gathering in wandering cattle or doing chores like taking care of ranch work way off-road. The running boards should be a welcome addition in wet weather where a rancher can exit the cab but remain out of the mire to check things out.

You have to know, though, that the MPerformance Division always has to do something special to the trucks they are creating. This Ford F-150 is no exception. Long McArthur has named this particular affordable special option package, the Cattleman.

Ford F-150 Naturally Has Enhancements

Once they have taken the vehicle into the dealership, the technicians in the Performance Division do their magic. Starting with a two-inch lift kit for the front suspension, they then install a Ranchhand Grill Guard. And, since the pickup has the two-inch lift, it has to get a set of larger wheels and tires, right? To answer the question, the Cattleman Package receives a set of Low Gloss Black XD 18-inch Wheels and a set of Fuel 35-inch Off-Road Tires. A tough Rhino spray-in bedliner is next, as is a window tint. Finally, the Cattleman package gets a full four-wheel-alignment and a speedometer recalibration so it will work with the new tire/wheel combo.

I believe the 35" tire are to big for the 3.73 gear ratio and will reduce overall performance. Am I missing something?
