Porsche, a subsidiary of Volkswagen, reported a record sales month in January. Sales bumped up more than 5 percent in January 2017.
Porsche, coming off a strong sales year in 2016, began 2017 in style, setting the biggest sales month ever recorded by the automaker. In January, the luxury sports vehicle maker delivered 4,602 vehicles.
Overall, January sales were up 5.7 percent over the same time last year. Balanced sales results reports occurred across all the automaker’s lines. Sports car sales were up 12.6 percent for the 911 and 2.8 percent for the 718. Macan sales were up a healthy 33.4 percent with 1,960 vehicles sold.

On the pre-owned side of the house, sales were also up. Indeed, sales of Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned vehicles were up 1,296 vehicles for January. Overall, Certified Pre-Owned vehicles sales were up 11.6 percent, compared to the same period in 2016.
