Hyundai have now added a new Value Edition to their Veloster lineup, saving customers $950.
Noted by Kelley Blue Book as one of the '10 Coolest Cars under $18,000', the new Value Edition of the Veloster comes in a new trim level saving customers $950 if they had bought the equipment separately. At $21,350 the new value edition comes with a standard six speed EcoShift® Dual Clutch Transmission, 18" alloy wheels strapped to 225/40 R18 tires, a panoramic sunroof, pushbutton start with proximity key, 7 inch navigation system loaded with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, automatic climate control, Blue Link connected and remote start and a rather nifty premium dimensional audio setup, which has eight speakers and subwoofer. The 7 inch multimedia touchscreen display comes with social connectivity, pre-installed apps, voice recognition and SiriusXM* radio Travel Link® and NavTraffic.
'The Value Edition epitomizes our desire to provide consumers more for less.''These are amongst the most sought after options in a car, in one convenient value savings package, ' said Mike Evanoff, the Product Planning Manager at Hyundai.
The engine comes in the form of a 1.6 L direct injection, in line 4 engine, which produces 132 HP and 120 pound feet of torque, doing 27mpg in the city or 35mpg on the Highway. If you want more power for your money, The Veloster has a few models to choose from which include the Turbo R-spec, Turbo and Rally Editions. Upgrading to the turbo models which make use of a integrated exhaust manifold, bumps up the power to 201hp.
The Value Edition comes with a six speed manual transmission or a six speed EcoShift® Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). The turbo versions get seven with a host of other options.
You get those quirky three doors and a 15.5 ft.³ of cargo space, along with a whole host of safety equipment. These come in the form of a NHTSA 5 star safety certificate of six airbags - with two at the front, along with a driver and passenger side and curtain airbag, Vehicle Stability Management, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, Anti-lock Brakes, Daytime Running Lights and Tire Pressure Monitoring System. As usual Hyundai don't skimp on those added extras.
The Veloster has now been around for some time, but it's showing no sign of falling by the wayside anytime soon and with the Value Edition bolstering the ranks, it seems the present models have a lot more life left in them.
