We’ve written about Hyundai Kona teaser images before, as well as how a Kona was spotted during a video shoot.
Now Hyundai is releasing some more teasers, all on video, and we’re able to get a slightly better sense of what the subcompact crossover will look like.
One video even shows the side profile.
Details Emerge
Motor Trend reports that based on what’s seen in the video and what we already know, the Kona will have twin headlamps, Hyundai’s signature cascading grille, LED daytime running lights and LED headlamps, narrow taillights, and aggressive wheel arches.
No further details have emerged, other than Hyundai offering all-wheel drive as an option. The unveiling will likely happen sometime this summer, with a production launch date in 2018.
Competition
The Kona will compete with vehicles like the Mazda CX-5, Honda HR-V, and Toyota C-HR when it launches.
The subcompact crossover segment is growing, and it will be interesting to see how the Kona stacks up – we wouldn’t bet against Hyundai here. And who knows, maybe there will even be an N performance version?
If you interested in the teaser videos, which don’t show a ton of the Kona but do give a glimpse of what to expect, check out the videos here.
