You’d think if you could afford to purchase and provide tender loving care to a 1985 Porsche 911, you be happy just to find one in fair condition. But what if you found one, not only in excellent shape, but previously owned by fashion king Calvin Klein with only 59,000 miles being auctioned at a current bid of $24,100?
The eBay listing was placed by The Classic Car Gallery in Southport, CT. and less than 48 hours remain before the auction closes.
According to the seller, the 1985 Porsche 911 Cabriolet has been pampered all its life and drives and performs as it should.
“The Black paint is excellent, with deep shine and great luster,” reads the listing description. “The Black interior, likewise, is in excellent condition, the leather is supple, and shows few blemishes. The engine has obviously received great care over the years, as she runs and drives wonderfully, with good power and tractability. The engine compartment is well detailed and the underside is fresh and rust free.”
The roadster features a factory-installed whale tail spoiler and unblemished Fuchs wheels with near new tires.
The five-speed shifter and transmission are said to perform smoothly as does the convertible top mechanism. The top itself is also said to be in exemplary condition.
This model runs on a turbo-tie rod suspension and all mechanical systems are alleged to perform smoothly.
AutoCheck gives it a rating of 78 and confirms title, odometer, no accidents, liens, rentals, etc.
You need a PayPal account to bid and you can contact the seller by calling 203-256-9800 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 203-256-9800 end_of_the_skype_highlighting or by emailing Steven@classiccargallery.com.
Naturally the seller ends with a disclaimer clearly stating the classic car comes as is – in this case that wouldn't seem to be a problem, but you'd be buying a Porsche without driving it and would have to pay your bid within a week. Then pick or delivery is also your sole responsibility.
