What you can expect with 2023 Toyota 4Runner changes, updates, and additions.
As the entire 4Runner fan community waits for the new Toyota 4Runner redesign, we still have some routine 2023 4Runner day-to-day housekeeping to talk about.
No, 4Runner is not being redesigned for 2023 (it could be 2024 4Runner or maybe even 2025 4Runner). It is also not getting refreshed with major body style or interior cabin upgrades.
However, there are some important changes coming that are absolutely worth discussing.
2023 Toyota 4Runner Changes
I am thrilled that all 2023 Toyota 4Runner trim levels will have standard blind spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert systems. Increased safety and peace of mind for both drivers and passengers here – standard.
Also, look for a very retro-cool new trim – 2023 4Runner 40th Anniversary Edition. I cannot decide what I like better – the tri-color Toyota racing accent stripes or new bronze wheels. You can get this new trim level in Ice Cap (the new Super White), Midnight Black, or Barcelona Red.
2023 Toyota 4Runner Colors
As reported by my friend and Toyota expert TRD JON on his YouTube channel, plan on several color changes for 2023 4Runner (you can subscribe to his “TRD JON” channel here).
Solar Octane is the new 4Runner TRD Pro feature color. It is replacing Lime Rush. Sorry, no more Lime Rush 4Runner TRD Pro.

But that is not the last we will see from Lime Rush. You will find this bright and “never-lose-it-in-a-parking-lot” shade in 2023 4Runner TRD Off-Road and in 4Runner TRD Sport.
And we will no longer seeArmy Green on Toyota 4Runner. It is being discontinued for the 2023 model year.
Time for Your Toyota 4Runner Comments
I am excited to see 2023 4Runner in action – especially the 40th Anniversary Edition. I was able to see it up close and personal in the Super White replacement – Ice Cap. It is striking and, frankly, it is really cool.
What changes for 2023 Toyota 4Runner are you interested in? What do you think of Solar Octane as a choice for the entire Toyota TRD Pro lineup?
Are you glad you can find Lime Rush in other 4Runner TRD vehicles?
How happy are you that blind spot monitor will be featured across the board?
And finally, are you ready to pull the trigger on a 2023 4Runner or are you holding out to see what next gen 4Runner has in store?
Thanks for reading everyone. See you next story.

I really hate that "weepy-eye
I really hate that "weepy-eye" look that Toyota is infatuated with. It's particularly prominent in the EV Truck that was revealed around December. Don't they realize it looks like they are trying to emulate murderous gang members?

18 years ago I opt'd for the Sequoia over the 4runner. She is still with me today running like a champ with close to 250k miles. However, it is coming time for her to retire as non engine related parts have started to fail. I have debated for a few months over the Sequoia and 4runner but can't bring myself to pay the price for even a used Sequoia. So after weighing the pro's and con's have decided the 4runner (with a third row) will fit our families needs. It may be a little bit smaller with the 3rd row down... but I think we can manage. Now it is do we get the 4x4 SR5 Premium or Limited??? Any suggestions? We are not using it for off road. But could possibly for towing in the future.
What am I excited about..... well EVERYTHING. In 2004 I had some of the fancy bells and whistles (which was mainly the sound system and wheels). Now I look forward to all the "fancy" safety features.
I have a 2016 4 runner
I have a 2016 4 runner limited, all black with leather interior and beautiful wood paneling. It has been the best and most comfortable vehicle especially traveling. My son has one with 500,000 miles and is still beautiful and excellent shape.

Doing away with the V6 in 2024!?!?! Replacing it with a 4 cylinder turbo. Be real. Turbo lag is just what you want when your crawling up a rock wall. I've either gotta trade in my 2008 4Runner on a 2023 or start looking for another SUV

Will the 4Runner ever have an automatic rear lift gate option? Seems all new SUV’s do now.
