Toyota Tacoma was refreshed for the 2020 model year. See the changes we like best.
A refresh year in the automotive world is sometimes something to look forward to. Other times it is very little of almost nothing.
Fortunately for Toyota Tacoma fans, the 2020 model year was refreshed with practical, useful new features that improve technology, safety, convenience, and comfort. Tacoma was already the best-selling midsize truck in the country but staying ahead of tough competition is an important factor to consider.
Let us explore the 2020 Tacoma to see the top features that improved versus its previous 2019 model.
Power driver’s seat for 2020 Tacoma
I list this important upgrade first because it has been one of the most asked questions from Toyota Tacoma fans over the last several years. “When will Tacoma get a power seat?”
The 2020 Toyota Tacoma now has a 10-way power driver’s seat as standard equipment for all trim levels SR5 and above. Now people shorter and taller will stay comfortable both on daily commutes and longer road trips.
2020 Tacoma multimedia updates
Larger screens and more apps. People want this and people got this when 2020 Tacoma refreshed its interior. No more 6.1-inch touch screens. Only the entry SR grade has a 7-inch screen. All trims SR5 and above get larger 8-inch screens. More worthy of today’s times.
Remember I mentioned how often I heard from people about the power seats? Well, the second most asked question was about when Toyota would be adding Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. All trim levels now include these popular and necessary applications, along with Amazon Alexa compatibility.
New cameras help drivers see
Panoramic view monitor allows drivers to see all around their trucks while they drive, so they can view obstacles that might prove troublesome. You can see behind, in front of and along the sides of your 2020 Tacoma. This is standard on Tacoma Limited and optional on Tacoma TRD Sport.
Multi-terrain monitor is standard on TRD Pro and available as an option on TRD Off-Road. This technology lets you see not only around your Tacoma, but also underneath it. Stumps, brush and rocks – it is now you who should be afraid of us.
New grille design for 2020 Tacoma
Just about every grade for this year’s Tacoma entry has a new grille. You know what they say about first impressions, right?

SR, SR5 and Limited trims have a bolder horizontal grille design. TRD Off-Road and TRD Sport have a honeycomb-style, three-dimensional look that is striking and statement-making.
LED Lights for 2020 Toyota Tacoma
The benefits of LED headlamps are many. They last longer, shine brighter and farther, and have a lower cost of ownership over time. Plus, they look fantastic and let you be seen better by other drivers.
For the first time, you can get these optionally on the TRD Sport and TRD Off-Road grades. They are standard on Tacoma Limited and 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro. The Pro even has sequential LEDs. Holler!
Time for your thoughts on 2020 Toyota Tacoma
Have you looked at the 2020 Tacoma yet or maybe you already own one? What do you like about it? Were any of the refresh updates reasons why you upgraded or want to get a new one?
