12,000-Pound Ford Performance Winch Now Available For Ford Super Duty Trucks

Winch by Warn was previously only available on Tremor option of Super Duty, but will now be $3,000 add on for either 7.3-liter V8 or 6.7-liter PowerStroke diesel engine. Winch by Warn, offered by Ford Performance Parts has 12,000-pound ability.

Many people who buy a Super Duty pickup truck need it for work, not as a daily driver. Often that work could involve needing to use a winch. However, until recently, the outstanding Ford Performance Parts Winch by Warn was only available on the Tremor trim of the Super Duty.

That will now change as Ford announced that the Winch by Warn and its 12,000 pounds of winching power will soon be available on properly equipped Super Duty trucks, not just exclusive to the Tremor package.

I sang the praises of the Tremor package on the F-250 Super Duty mated with the 7.3-liter Godzilla engine when reviewed this full-sized truck. I did not test the winch, nor did it come with one for my press loan.

But Winch by Warn, offered through Ford Performance Parts, has been a popular item for customers.

“We have Super Duty customers who saw the Tremor winch calling to say they want that same choice,” said Ron Meredith, Ford truck vehicle personalization planning manager. “So we’ve expanded its availability to every new Super Duty pickup and made sure it meets the needs of all of our hardworking Super Duty customers.”

Available as a factory-orderable option or dealer-installed accessory, the winch can be added to optional 7.3-liter gas V8 or 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 diesel-powered 2020 or newer 4x4-equipped F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickups with available dual batteries and dual 397-amp alternators.

Winch by Warn details
Developed with crash safety and capability top of mind, the fully integrated winch is mounted behind the steel bumper and features optimized airflow and clearance regardless of engine choice. The winch features high-tensile strength, abrasion-resistant synthetic cable is ideal for helping stranded motorists or as an indispensable tool on the job site. The winch includes the only wireless remote control in its class, along with a wired remote control.

The Ford Performance Parts winch by Warn will be available to order beginning April 8 as a
$3,000 factory option, or it can be added after purchase at a local Ford dealership for $3,000 MSRP plus labor.

While this winch is available on 2020 and new Super Duties, I also wrote about some new appearance packages that will be available for the 2022 Ford Super Duty.

New Appearance Packages for Ford Super Duty
For 2022, Super Duty offers a new stylish Lariat Sport Appearance Package that includes body-color bumpers, exterior mirrors and grille, as well as a chrome exhaust tip and black platform running boards.

The wildly popular Black Appearance Package is now being made available for XLT models for 2022. This includes 20-inch Ebony Black painted premium wheels, body-color front and rear bumpers, grille bars, and six-inch Ebony Black running boards – even the front and rear Blue Ovals have been painted black. The Black Appearance Package will be available fall 2021.

New colors available inside and out include a Baja interior for Lariat, a Navy Pier and Light Slate interior for Limited, and an Atlas Blue exterior color.

Tremor is Ford’s rugged sub-brand
Tremor has become a sub-brand for Ford that started only on the Super Duty line of heavy trucks, but has made its way to both the Ford Ranger and just recently announced for the 2021 Ford F-150.
