Even though Xbox Live Gold members like myself got our hands on the first playable demo for Forza Motorsport 4, the new commercial featuring Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson and the Aston Martin DB9 is no less interesting as it isn’t packed full of action shots from the game but rather, the piece pays homage to gearheads who are encouraged to turn to Forza 4 for their driving exhilaration rather than doing it on public roads.

The question is simple. Will the auto makers of brands like BMW, Land Rover, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Maserati, Ferrari and Lamborghini be driven our of the U.S. market by standards requiring the average mileage of total vehicles sold in America to hit the currently discussed 56-mpg mark? To the lover of the exotic sports luxury car, it is a valid concern.

Just imagine you are charged with engineering a part for the new V12 Zagato or sculpting the shape out of clay or planning the slick magazine ads Aston Martin will run when it is released next year. That could well be an emerging reality if you were among the students attending the premiere automaker’s See Inside Manufacturing initiative.

Production of the Aston Martin Rapide will move to the U.K. in the second half of 2012 after having been built in Austria since reaching full production in 2010. Aston Martin's four door sports car has been built by Magna Steyr because it lacked sufficient production capability of its own.

The mystery project between Aston Martin and Zagato is no longer a mystery. Tomorrow at the Villa D'Deste Concours, Aston Martin will unveil the Aston Martin V12 Zagato, a special version of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage, bound for competition and then limited production.

Aston Martin shook up the supercar world when they rolled out their super exclusive, ultra powerful One-77 with a price tag of roughly $1.87 million but over the course of the past year, 60 of the 77 examples being produced are already spoken for.
