General Motors might be dealing with battery-related issues right now but that didn’t stop the Chevrolet Volt from easily outselling the Nissan Leaf in November 2011, although the Volt still trails the Leaf in annual sales with just one month remaining.

Ford Motor Company had a fairly strong month in November 2011 with 166,865 units sold making them the second largest automaker in the US in terms of volume and a growth rate year over year of 13.25% making them the second best American automaker in terms of improvement compared to November 2010.

Deicing agents, including raw salt, magnesium chloride and now brine, are such a hot-button issue, they are sure to spark controversy whenever the subject arises. So transportation officials in Montana are working with a new deicing agent utilizing a brine mixture less than 25 percent salt, stating it will save money, help keep winter roads safer and do less damage to cars than other agents.

During their annual December to Remember sales event, Lexus just announced they will donate $5 to Toys for Tots for every big red bow shared via Facebook and Twitter. The campaign runs through Jan. 3, 2012, with Lexus providing up to a $100,000 donation for the social media fundraiser.
