NHTSA proposes minimum sound requirements for electric and hybrid vehicles

The new NHTSA proposal stems from the Pedestrian Safety Enhancement Acts, which mandated that rules be established to require electric and hybrid vehicles be equipped with a pedestrian alert sound system.
