During their annual December to Remember sales event, Lexus just announced they will donate $5 to Toys for Tots for every big red bow shared via Facebook and Twitter. The campaign runs through Jan. 3, 2012, with Lexus providing up to a $100,000 donation for the social media fundraiser.

The news out of Torrance, Calif., is all good entering the Christmas rush as Toyota and Lexus report serious boosts in the popularity of select vehicles, and hybrids. The two car companies saw hybrid sales rise across the board by more than 30% in November.

When the stylish new 2013 Lexus GS350 hits showrooms next year, it will be heralded by the brands first Super Bowl commercial in addition to sponsorship of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition. The fourth-generation GS was revealed this summer at the Concours d’Elegance and has made its auto show debut during the currently running Los Angeles Auto Show. The all-new sport sedan incorporates the new Lexus design philosophy, prefaced by the new spindle grille.

The slump at Lexus is over. The luxury marque sold 10,331 cars last month, an uptick of 6.2% over the same period last year. The ES 350 (pictured), Lexus's entry luxury sedan, was the Japanese company's best-selling car (3,887). Another big boost: Lexus moved 3,238 hybrids in August, an increase of 56.1% over 2010.
