Ford Motor Company launched the 2013 Ford Fusion build site earlier this month without any pricing but preliminary pricing has recently been added – offering us a rough look at what buyers can expect to pay for the upscale new midsized sedan.
We should point out that these prices for the 2013 Ford Fusion come with a disclaimer that reads “Prices and features are for survey purposes only and are subject to change and features may become unavailable at the time of vehicle introduction.” This means that when the actual prices are announced for the 2013 Fusion, those figures could vary from what is currently displayed on the configurator site. However, these preliminary prices offer us a great look at the ballpark prices for the cutting edge 2013 Fusion sedan. It should be noted that these prices don’t include many details like whether or not the price includes the destination fee so if nothing else, these prices could at least increase by $795 (or whatever the destination fee is for the new Fusion, $795 is the destination fee of the current 2012 Fusion).
Trimline Pricing:
The entry level 2013 Ford Fusion S carries a base price of $22,495 and this includes the 2.5L 4-cylinder engine and a 6 speed automatic transmission. This package also comes with 16” steel wheels, 8 standard airbags, remote keyless entry, automatic headlights and much more. You can click here for a closer look at the preliminary features of the Fusion S and all of the 2013 Fusion models
The 2013 Ford Fusion SE is the next step up and it carries a starting price of $24,495 when equipped with the 2.5L 4-cylinder engine and the 6 speed automatic transmission. Stepping up to the 1.6L EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine, whether equipped with a manual or automatic transmission increases the price to $25,290. If you opt for the Fusion SE with the 1.6L EcoBoost fitted with auto start-stop technology (and an automatic transmission) it will set you back $25,585 while the Fusion SE while the 2.0L EcoBoost engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission starts at $26,745.
Those who want to pay a little more to avoid some trips to the gas station can opt for the 2013 Ford Fusion SE Hybrid, which carries a base price of $27,995. This includes a 2.0L hybrid electric powertrain with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), unique “hybrid” 17” aluminum wheels and all of the standard features of the non-hybrid Fusion SE.
The premium trimline is the 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium and this model is available exclusively with the 2.0L EcoBoost 4-cylinder mill and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Unlike the other 2013 Fusion models, the Titanium is available with front wheel drive or all wheel drive with the FWD Fusion Titanium carrying a base price of $30,995 and the AWD model starts at $32,995.
Option Pricing:
In addition to the preliminary pricing for the various 2013 Ford Fusion sedan, the configurator offers us a look at some of the option pricing. First of all, the Ruby Red exterior paint will carry an additional cost of $395 while White Platinum Tri-Coat Metallic sets you back an extra $495 and these figures are uniform across the lineup. Adding leather to the SE adds $1,505 as part of the SE Luxury Package for those models equipped with the 1.6L EcoBoost but the leather will cost you $1,545 more for the 2013 Fusion fitted with the 2.0L EcoBoost as it also adds “18 inch luxury wheels”.
Finally, option packages and items for the 2013 Ford Fusion also get preliminary pricing. As mentioned, the SE Luxury Package adds $1,050, the SE Technology Package and SE Luxury Driver Assist Package each add $1,000, voice activated navigation and active park assist each cost $795, a moon roof costs $895, adaptive cruise control costs $995 and the list goes on and on. For the SE Hybrid, there is a unique luxury package that adds leather seats and other interior trim, fog lights, a 10 way power driver’s seat, and $2,000 to the bottom line. Beyond that, the option packages for the SE Hybrid are similar to those found for the standard SE.
The 203 Ford Fusion Titanium offers less options than the SE, including standard leather, but buyers can pick from packages like the Titanium Driver Assist Package ($1,000) along with the same voice activated navigation, moon roof and active park assist options found for the other models. If you go through and check every single box for the high end Titanium with all wheel drive, you end up with a fully loaded Fusion sedan that carries a starting price of$38,865.
I just want to remind my readers that these are just preliminary prices for the 2013 Ford Fusion so the trimline prices and option prices could change before reaching production but these early figures should at least give prospective buyers a rough idea of what their new Fusion will cost them.
