Having given away 75 cars now, the 100 Cars for Good program from Toyota enters its final stretch for 2012. With 25 more cars to give away and 125 charities still in the running, votes are needed now more than ever.
Toyota announced the third group of charity winners for this year's 100 Cars for Good program, marking 75 of 100 to have received free vehicles from the company as part of this 100-day charity campaign.
The program brings together 500 nonprofit charity groups and then puts them before the voting public in groups of five. Each day, for 100 days, 5 charities show why they could use a free vehicle and people all over America, just like you and I, vote for a winner. The four who don't get a car still receive a cash grant and other prizes as well as a chance to try again next year.
So far, 75 winners from all over the country, representing charities as diverse as animal rescues, family crisis centers, cancer foundations, food banks, mentorship programs, and local chapters of the Girl Scouts, American Red Cross, and more have all received their choice of one of six Toyota vehicles, complete with 6-year, 100,000 mile warranty and delivery. Available are 2012 models of the Camry Hybrid, Highlander, Prius v, Sienna, Sienna Mobility, and Tundra.
“As we approach close of 100 Cars for Good, it is exciting and humbling to see how many communities and organizations Toyota touches through this program,” said Jim Lentz, president and chief executive officer of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. “With hundreds of thousands of votes through the program thus far, it’s clear that the public is engaged and invested in seeing Toyota vehicles make their way into the community. We look forward to seeing what the last leg of the 2012 program will bring.”
Today begins the final stretch of the 100 Cars for Good program for 2012. Voting on five charities opened this morning and for the next 25 days, 25 more will be chosen to receive a Toyota to help with their nonprofit work.
Voting is open to the public through Facebook and voters can choose their favorite of the five presented each day. Visit 100CarsForGood.com for more details and to begin voting now.
