The 2016 RAV4 Hybrid wins distinction from New England Motor Press.
The New England Motor Press Association (NEMPA) presented Toyota with the 2016 Best In Class Green SUV or Crossover Award for the 2016 RAV4 Hybrid at its annual gala this past at MIT week. The new hybrid version of the RAV4 is currently the best-selling green crossover in America, and the RAV4 is the best-selling compact crossover.
The NEMPA team votes annually on these awards at its winter test wrap up-meeting. The RAV4 was appreciated by the NEMPA team for its outstanding 33 MPG in all situations during testing. Winter is no joke in New England and the RAV4’s dual-motor drive system in conjunction with its AWD system made easy work of tough winter weather in testing. (More on page 2)

Unlike obscure EV models that barely sell, the RAV4 Hybrids sales have been brisk. It is one of the top-selling green vehicles in America and has outsold every EV model this year through May. The RAV4 Hybrid is also a Top Safety Pick Plus rated vehicle.
With two trim levels, the RAV4 is as affordable as it is safe.
Fuel efficiency is key in any green car consideration, and Connecticut-based Consumer Reports recently verified that the RAV4 Hybrid is the most efficient non-EV crossover ever tested.
