The 2020 Subaru Crosstrek arrives later this year will a long list of upgrades for Compact SUV Shoppers. Here are the full details.

Subaru announced pricing and new features for the 2020 Crosstrek model change and the list is long for compact SUV shoppers. This is year three for the second-generation Crosstrek and it looks the same on the outside, but don’t be fooled by appearances. Subaru Corporation added a multitude of new features for the 2020 model year.

The Base Crosstrek 2.0i trim ($23,155 including destination) a $250 price increase over 2019 models, still comes equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The manual gearbox could be going away soon because Subaru wants EyeSight driver assist technology standard across the entire lineup for consumer safety. But for now, you can still get it on Base and Premium trims. All Crosstrek CVT automatic models now come with standard EyeSight with Base CVT pricing starting at $24,505.

New for 2020, all models with a CVT get Auto Stop-Start system fuel-saving technology, and Subaru SI-Drive driver-selectable powertrain management system with Intelligent and Sport modes and steering wheel control switches. An automatic climate control system is now standard on Base and Premium trims. Redesigned rear lights are new on all models. The Base trim also gets a new front console USB input port.

Subaru is adding a Rear Seat Reminder on all Crosstrek models for 2020 with a CVT and is designed to help prevent child and/or pet entrapment by alerting the driver to check the rear seat before exiting the vehicle.

The automatic power door lock / unlock system is also new for 2020 and automatically locks all the doors, rear gate, and fuel door to help improve vehicle security. The system operates and locks the doors when the shift lever is moved from Park to Drive position and the vehicle’s speed exceeds 13 mph. A new collision detection power door unlock function (all models) automatically unlocks all the doors and rear gate if the vehicle is subjected to a strong collision.

Exterior color changes for all 2020 trim levels include Magnetite Gray Metallic replacing Dark Gray Metallic, and Pure Red replaces Venetian Red Pearl.

Premium trim

The Premium trim adds the same upgrades as Base models and new for 2020, Crosstrek Premium gets new Dual front USB ports, and rear console dual USB charge ports. Premium models offer a new 6-way power driver’s seat, illuminated front console storage tray, and keyless access with push-button start as new options. The 6-speed manual models start at $24,205, and CVT automatic trim starts at $25,555 (+$300 over 2019 models).

Limited Crosstrek trim

New for 2020, Limited trims get a new illuminated front console storage tray, and LED fog lights, and rear console dual USB charge ports as standard. Limited models start at $28,405 (+$200). The 2020 Crosstrek Hybrid pricing starts at $36,155 (+$150) with the same upgrades as all other trim levels. All 2020 Subaru Crosstrek models will begin arriving in Subaru showrooms later this year.

Special thanks to Subaru for putting the "Nanny cam" into the Crosstrek, along with the annoying start-stop feature. Neither are upgrades. Too bad they did not address the lack of power with the engine, or the CVT. One day this company may start to listen to their customers.

I had the pleasure of riding in a 2019 crosstrek rental car and was impressed.
With my lease getting ready to expire we were seriously looking at purchasing a new 2020 model.
However, I didn't realize they're only equipped with such limited horsepower options.
It appears I'll have to shelf my interest until 2023...

I drove a 2019 loaner for a couple of days. Way more pick up then my 2016 Outback. How fast do you really need to go? So you're going to lease something for 3 more years with the hopes of a few more HP in '23?

Nope, I'll be buying something and will be ready for something new in 3 years.
If I were going to lease again I'd be open to settling for something but not with a purchase.
