The 2023 Subaru Crosstrek pricing and model guides are here. See what's new for the 2023 model change and why the next-generation Crosstrek is on hold.
The 2023 Subaru Crosstrek should have received a complete remodel. Subaru Corporation decides to continue with the second-generation Crosstrek model with few changes, except Subaru of America gets a new Special Edition model.
The Crosstrek is Subaru of America's hottest-selling model. In a year where there are plant shutdowns, supply chain issues, and microchip shortages, Subaru has chosen to wait on the third-generation model.
What is the price of the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek?
All 2023 Subaru Crosstrek trim levels get a $600 price increase, including destination and delivery fees. Dealer fees increased by $50 for 2023 Crosstrek trims.
The 2023 Subaru Crosstrek now comes in six trim levels for U.S. customers. The base trim is priced from $24,870, Premium ($26,020), Special Edition ($27,970), Sport ($29,220), Limited ($30,720), and Crosstrek Hybrid ($38,070). Prices include destination and delivery fees ($1,225).
What is new for 2023? A 2023 Crosstrek Special Edition
There are no new upgrades for the 2023 model change except for the new Crosstrek Special Edition (SE) trim level. The new SE model features an "overland-inspired" Desert Khaki exterior color not offered on any other trim level.
The SE comes with 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels in a Dark Gray finish, side mirrors, front grille bar, antenna, and door handles in Crystal Black Silica. The exterior badges are finished in a Low Luster Black finish.
The SE is powered by the standard 152 horsepower 2.0-liter Boxer engine, not the 2.5-liter engine. It's mated with the Lineartronic CVT automatic transmission.
SE interior upgrades
The SE interior features black and red upholstery with red contrast stitching throughout the cabin, including the front and rear cloth seats, door armrests, leather-wrapped steering wheel, shifter boot, combination meter visor, dash panel, and center console.
Interior trim accents are finished in Low Luster Black. The Special Edition includes all features from the Premium trim level and adds the Subaru Starlink 8.0-inch Multimedia Plus system as standard.
2023 Crosstrek standard features
All 2023 Crosstrek trim levels come standard with Symmetrical all-wheel-drive, 8.7-inches of ground clearance, black-finish alloy wheels, standard roof rails, black side cladding, and a gloss black rear roof spoiler.
EyeSight safety technology
All Crosstrek trims equipped with the Lineartronic CVT automatic transmission; whether standard or optional, comes with the automaker's EyeSight drivers assist safety technology featuring automatic pre-collision braking and pre-collision throttle management, lane keep assist, lane departure and sway warning, and lead vehicle start alert. The EyeSight system also includes advanced adaptive cruise control with lane centering.
Two engine and transmission options
The Base, Premium, and Special Edition trims are powered by the 2.0-liter engine producing 152 horsepower and 145 lb.-ft. of torque. Subaru will still offer the 6-speed manual transmission standard in Base and Premium trims or the optional Lineartronic CVT automatic.
Sport and Limited come with the 2.5-liter engine
The 2022 Crosstrek Sport and Limited come with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine producing 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque coupled with a Lineartronic CVT automatic transmission.
What is the 2023 Crosstrek fuel mileage?
The CVT models achieve EPA-estimated fuel economy of 28/33 city/highway and 30 combined mpg. The 6-speed manual models are rated 22/29 city/highway and 25 combined mpg. The 2.5-liter Boxer engine achieves an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 27/34 city/highway and 29 combined mpg.
2023 Crosstrek Base
Base trims come standard with Subaru Starlink, a 6.5-inch Multimedia system with touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, power windows, door locks, and side mirrors, 60/40-split fold-down rear seat, multifunction display with fuel economy information, tilt and telescoping steering column, keyless entry, security system with engine immobilizer, and carpeted floor mats.
2023 Crosstrek Premium
Premium trim adds fog lights, heated front seats, windshield and exterior mirrors, body-color exterior mirrors, dual USB input ports, on/off automatic headlights linked to windshield wiper operation, and welcome lighting. In addition, the Premium trim gets a 6-speaker sound system, retractable cargo cover, cargo tray, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and shift lever handle.
2023 Crosstrek Sport
The Crosstrek Sport trim offers a more rugged appearance with wider wheel arch moldings, 17-inch alloy wheels with a dark gray finish, and a gunmetal finish for the front grille, side mirrors, and badges. The Sport interior adds water-repellant StarTex upholstery with yellow stitching to the seating.
Also, yellow stitching has been added to the simulated leather door armrests, leather-wrapped steering wheel, shift boot, multifunction display visor, and center console lid. The carpeted floor mats feature the Sport logo and yellow stitching.
The Sport also has gunmetal simulated carbon-fiber interior trim accents, a high-grade gauge cluster with color LCD and yellow metallic finish trim rings, and a high-power LED rear gate light.
The Sport is the only Crosstrek trim that gets suspension upgrades with dual-function X-Mode. You can dial up Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud settings to optimize all-wheel-drive performance for more extreme weather and road conditions. All other Crosstrek trim levels equipped with the CVT come with standard X-Mode with hill descent control.
2023 Crosstrek Limited
The top-of-the-lineup Limited trim adds LED steering responsive headlights with automatic height adjustment control and LED daytime running and fog lights. The Limited also has 18-inch alloy wheels in a black machine finish and body-color exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals.
Limited comes upgraded with high beam assist, reverse automatic braking, and blind-spot detection with lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert.
Other Limited features include a 6-way power driver's seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel, shift lever handle, keyless access with push-button start, Starlink 8.0-inch multimedia, and multifunction display with color LCD.
2023 Crosstrek Plug-In Hybrid
Crosstrek Hybrid adds the features of the Limited with unique exterior and interior trim and offers one option package (moonroof, navigation, Harman Kardon sound, and heated steering wheel - $2,500). Exclusive to the Crosstrek Hybrid are Starlink Connected Services that include remote climate control and remote battery charging timer included in the Hybrid's free 10-year subscription to the Starlink Safety and Security Plus package.
The 2023 Subaru Crosstrek and 2023 Crosstrek Hybrid are carryovers with few changes except for the Special Edition model. The 2023 Crosstrek subcompact SUV will begin arriving at Subaru showrooms this summer.
When will the third-generation Subaru Crosstrek arrive? The remodeled Crosstrek has been put on hold, and customers will have to wait another year.
