The all-new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek arrives at U.S. retailers now. Check out the seven things you must learn about the new subcompact SUV before you buy a new model.
The next-generation 2024 Subaru Crosstrek makes its dealer launch in the U.S. this summer, and there are a few details you still need to learn about the new subcompact SUV. Here are seven things about the all-new Crosstrek that may help you if you are considering the newly updated and remodeled all-wheel-drive vehicle.
A new report from Wards Auto sheds more light on the new Crosstrek's upgrades. There are hotter seat heaters, copper-free brake pads, better-damped interior door handles, more-refined door opening and closing, a reinforced seat frame, aluminum fenders, and a shift knob that's 1.4 inches. (36 mm) taller.
Hotter seats are always welcome in colder climates. You will be toasty warm when the snow flies next winter.
Why copper-free brake pads? There's a voluntary initiative, and in addition to eliminating copper, the initiative reduces mercury, lead, cadmium, asbestiform fibers, and chromium-six salts in motor vehicle brake pads. It decreases runoff of these materials from roads into the nation's streams, rivers, and lakes.
The better-damped interior door handles and more-refined door opening and closing make entry and exit of the vehicle easier. There's a more solid feel when you close the door.
The reinforced seat frame makes a significant difference. Crosstrek's seat fixing structure has been changed from the conventional method using brackets to a system in which the seat rails are fixed directly to the vehicle body. The vibration of the seat itself can also be suppressed by being firmly attached to the vehicle's body side. As a result, Subaru reduced the head's shaking by about 40 percent compared to the conventional model, producing a comfortable ride.
The aluminum fenders reduce the vehicle's weight, and the increased height of the shift knob makes it easier for the driver to reach the lever, designed for efficiency and comfort and makes for improved ergonomics.
Here are some additional Crosstrek upgrades you should know about.
