2025 Forester Highlights
1. All-new 2025 Subaru Forester adds a sleek, stylish exterior with a refined, quieter interior.
Subaru says, "Several functional aerodynamic improvements enhance the Forester's performance and stability. An air outlet at the trailing edge of the front wheel opening allows air to exit from the wheel well more freely, contributing to reduced lift on the front tires and improved driving stability."
2. Subaru's sixth-generation bestselling SUV offers more advanced features and improved ride quality without sacrificing handling or capability.
3. The latest-generation EyeSight Driver Assist safety technology is standard on all trim levels.
Subaru says," The newest version of the EyeSight system operates more smoothly, quickly, and under a greater range of conditions than prior versions."
4. It's the Forester's debut of the foot-activated Hands-Free Power Rear Gate.
5. For the first time, the Subaru Starlink 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus system is available for Forester.
What's new under the hood of the 2025 Forester?
All 2025 Forester trim levels come standard with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine delivering 180 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. That is two less horsepower and two more lb-ft of torque than the 2024 Forester.
Subaru says a Lineartronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) "with smoother and quieter performance" is standard on all Forester models.
Forester Base $31,090
The 2025 Subaru Forester Base SUV is well-equipped with impressive standard features, including Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. However, it costs $2,900, and only some buyers will choose the Base trim at that price.
Forester Premium $33,390
When I study the trim levels and pricing, the Premium trim now looks like the best value. Starting from the Forester's impressive roster of standard equipment, the 2025 Forester Premium goes further with added comfort and convenience features.
Forester Sport $35,890
The 2025 Subaru Forester Sport is a stylish SUV with unique styling elements and exceptional curb appeal. The Sport will stay a popular trim with many buyers.
Forester Limited $37,390
The 2025 Forester Limited adds more creature comforts inside, including leather-trimmed upholstery and driver assistance features. Who doesn't want more comfort?
Forester Touring $41,390
On top of the 2025 Forester lineup, the Touring trim level adds exceptional equipment for comfort and style. The Touring tops $41,000. Enjoy those heated and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats.
Where is the 2025 Forester made?
All 2025 Subaru Forester models are manufactured at Subaru's Gunma, Japan facility, so Forester quality should remain high.
A new Subaru Forester Hybrid trim is coming.
The big news is that Subaru Corporation President and CEO Atsushi Osaki said the Subaru Forester will get a new hybrid powertrain for the 2026 model year, likely in the spring of 2025. He said the electrified Forester "will follow quickly." Pricing and details have yet to be announced. Stay tuned.
When does the 2025 Forester arrive in the U.S. showrooms?
Subaru of America says the all-new 2025 Subaru Forester compact SUV will arrive on U.S. shores later this spring.

With that big of a price…
With that big of a price increase, there better be lots of outstanding standard equipment on the Touring. Because for that price increase I can get a new 2024 Outback for less. It better have several different options that make it worth
going with the Forester
Crazy price increases. I…
Crazy price increases. I now think the Mazda lineup is a better option. I planned on going with the Forester, but with long waits and dealers not dealing, I'm out as of today.
Was at a dealership…
Was at a dealership yesterday. They had the build on their website. Went with basic equipment options on the touring. Cargo net, approach lighting outside mirrors dimming mirrors, rear back seat protectors and rear bumper cover. $41,350. + tax title dealer fees. They cannot tell what the standard equipment is. For that price I can get a decent Mazda, Hyundai, with better equipment and warranty. Been a long time Subaru person. Maybe it’s time for a change.
