The 2023 Subaru Solterra makes the Consumer Reports best deals list for the first time. It's the first-ever for any Subaru model to be on this list. See why it's essential for customers to know now.
What are the best deals on fuel-efficient new cars and SUVs right now? According to a recent report from Consumer Reports (by subscription), something strange has occurred. A new Subaru vehicle makes its Best Deals on Fuel-Efficient Cars and SUVs list for the first time; the 2023 Solterra, Subaru's first all-electric SUV. Here is why it's the best time to buy a new Solterra.
Consumer Reports says the list highlights models from Acura, BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Toyota, and Subaru. There are a variety of cars and SUVs, each representing an efficient choice in their category. And they included a standout pickup truck, as well.
The vehicles picked by Consumer Reports must also have good performance, reliability, and owner satisfaction and get top safety scores. These are all part of the Overall Score that Consumer Reports gives new cars it tests, and those that shine earn their recommendation.
The vehicles have the best transaction prices now.
CR says they sorted the data to rank the vehicles by how close their average transaction price is to the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) on the vehicle's window sticker, starting with the best deal.
The best deals on fuel-efficient cars and SUVs by CR are ranked from best to last. You can save money and gas on these top models.
CR's Best Deals on Fuel-Efficient Cars and SUVs
The best deal is on the Kia EV6, followed by the Lexus ES Hybrid, Acura Integra, Honda Ridgeline, Hyundai Ioniq 5, BMW X1, Toyota Camry, Lexus UX, Honda Accord Hybrid, and Subaru Solterra.
It's a surprise the all-new 2023 Subaru Solterra EV makes the list because, typically, Subaru does not offer incentives or special financing on any of Subaru of America's models. Subaru's SUVs and cars are in high demand, and you will find few, if any, sitting on dealers' lots.

SOA provides a 36-Month Lease for $399/month with $3,899 due at lease signing.
Subaru of America is advertising the special 2023 Solterra financing rate on its main vehicle page, which is unusual. It shows they want to sell more Solterra EVs available to customers now.
