Watch the 2020 Tesla Roadster prototype accelerate at neck-snapping speed. Will it be the world’s fastest production car?
Call us skeptical about Elon Musk’s claims about the new 2020 Tesla Roadster. He said at their EV Semi Truck event, and surprise reveal of the new-generation all-electric supercar, it will sprint from 0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds and 0-100 mph in 4.2 seconds. Is the new EV hypercar really going to be that quick? If it is, it will be the world’s fastest-ever production car.
Musk also revealed the new Tesla Roadster would put out a massive 10,000 Nm of torque (7375 lb. ft of torque) which is just crazy stupid power. But if it does, then the acceleration will snap your neck. Check out the videos below which reveals Musk might be telling the truth.
At the event, Elon Musk invited the audience to “jump the barriers” and come up on stage to experience the Roadster’s astonishing acceleration first-hand in Maximum Plaid mode. If you placed a $200,000 deposit down, you could take it for quick spin, which is what one guy did.
Dragtimes and Eletrek.co each uploaded videos of the Roadster's insane acceleration demonstration. Watch the reactions during and after the Tesla Roadster launches from 0-60 mph in lightning speed. Internal combustion engines won’t be able to match the Tesla Roadster’s incredible torque. This is the future of supercars and it’s an all-electric future that’s here now.
