Early Cybertruck Owners Say They’re Unhappy With All the Free Benefits Tesla is Offering New Cybertruck Buyers – They’re Gathering Support to Pressure Tesla Into Giving Them the Same Perks

Several Foundation Series Cybertruck owners are debating whether to start a petition calling on Tesla to provide them with the same free benefits as new buyers. These owners feel they’re being punished for buying their Cybertrucks too early.

Early Cybertruck owners are unhappy with Tesla and all the free benefits the EV maker is giving away to new buyers.

These owners were the first Cybertruck buyers and have purchased the fully loaded Foundation Series Cybertruck for an extra $20,000 over the base model.

Foundation Series Cybertruck owners spent that much money hoping to be the first to own a special version of the truck. However, it appears that Tesla is doing more for the latecomers than the early adopters.

Not to mention, owning early Cybertrucks has come with a lot of challenges, including seven hardware recalls, multiple failures, quality control issues, and so forth.

There were also a lot of issues with paid-for parts not shipping together with the vehicle, including the lightbar, the wheel covers, FSD for months, Power Share equipment, and so on.

Through all these challenges, early Cybertruck owners have stood by Tesla; however, a recent giveaway Tesla started for new Cybertruck buyers appears to be the last straw.

Recently, Tesla started offering new Cybertruck buyers, who chose to go with inventory Foundation Series Cybertrucks, free lifetime unlimited supercharger access.

Tesla used to offer early buyers of its other vehicles this perk; however, for the Cybertruck, only those buying the truck from December 27, 2024, onwards are getting this benefit.

And this move appears to have angered a lot of early Cybertruck owners who feel like they are being punished for hopping on the Cybertruck bandwagon too soon.

One Cybertruck owner, Jeffrey, from California, is looking to start a petition to force Tesla to offer early Foundation Cybertruck owners the same perks as new buyers.

Jeffrey shared his thoughts on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum under the title “Fairness Movement for Tesla to Provide Free Supercharging to Early Cybertruck Adopters”

Here is what he wrote…

“I ordered my Cybertruck back in 2019 and took delivery of the Foundation Series when it was my turn this past Spring... I waited many months to get FSD, wheel covers, etc. It's just disappointing that I'd get free lifetime supercharging if I had bought my Cybertruck now. Does anyone know how we can start petitioning Tesla to provide us early adopters with the same supercharging benefit?”

Below his post, Jeffrey included a screenshot from the Tesla inventory page showing that Foundation Series Cybertrucks now get free lifetime unlimited supercharger access.

Given that Jeffrey and other Foundation Series Cybertruck owners have bought the exact vehicle, it’s understandable why they would be frustrated that newer buyers are getting this benefit that Tesla did not provide them.

Looking at the comments, several Cybertruck owners agreed with this sentiment.

A fellow Cybertruck owner from Hawaii responds to Jeffrey’s post, writing…

“I haven't seen anything online, but would sign it if you made one. I called out Elon on X (I doubt he'll ever see it), but that’s about it. It's a bummer, for sure.

They've offered free lifetime supercharging with every other previous new model, and we're the ones who have dealt with the mess of early adopters.

I think my truck has spent 6 weeks of its first 3 months in the shop. I was one of the few who got unlimited supercharger access until Christmas, which was nice, but that is over and done. It would have been nice if they extended it for the 6 weeks it was in the shop. Especially since I was paying for a truck that I couldn't use or charge.”

Another Cybertruck owner, Derek, from Roseville, California, responds simply by writing, “I would sign the petition.”

Having said that, there are also other Cybertruck owners who think it’s a dumb idea to start a petition calling on Tesla to provide free supercharger access.

A Cybertruck owner from Washington DC writes…

“Dumb. You also got a $2500 credit (or more if you bought a Cyberbeast) that the new buyers didn’t get. Why didn’t you save that to use for Supercharger miles? If Tesla raised prices, are you expected to pay Tesla the difference?”

Another Cybertruck owner from North Carolina wries…

“You want to start a petition so that Tesla will give you potentially thousands of dollars over a span of many mystery number of years as a goodwill gesture?

I'm not sure the shareholders or finance department will find that compelling.”

Overall, it appears that Tesla is forced to offer new buyers these sweet offers in order to move unsold Foundation Series Cybertrucks off the lot.

However, please let me know if you think Tesla should also offer the same benefits to early Cybertruck buyers. Share your ideas by clicking the “Add new comment” button below. Also, visit our site, torquenews.com/Tesla, regularly for the latest updates.

We should be getting the same thing as the late comers . We should start the petition NOW.

I don’t think anybody should be buying Tesla‘s the first time they come through has proven to be a big BS.

That would be great if stock trades worked that way, too, lol. People that want the latest and new of most things tech related always pay more.

I get that early adopters might be frustrated, but realistically, they chose to be first in line for a brand-new vehicle. Part of that deal is dealing with the kinks and sometimes missing out on later incentives. Tesla owes them nothing more than what they initially purchased. If you’re impatient and buy early, you run the risk of missing better deals down the road. That’s just the nature of buying any product the moment it hits the market.
