A poster on Reddit, who goes by the name Abomb1997, has posted what he says is the new Model Y refresh, also known as Juniper. Is this fact or fiction?
Leaked Post Of Model Y Juniper Shows New Emblem
A user on Reddit, who likely is remaining anonymous and is an employee of Tesla, is showing what they say to be the backside of the Model Y refresh, Juniper, showing a new Tesla emblem on the back of the car.
The backside emblem showing the word Tesla looks slick and smooth, with some on the Reddit page calling this a very sleek design that looks promising.
Of note is that it looks like the rear liftgate is finally protected by the bumper. This is one of the more damaged spots for those that drive the Tesla Model Y.
Though some like the backside emblem, some of the Reddit folks in the comments do not like that Tesla is putting the full name of the company on the backside as an emblem, but would rather see just the "T" logo.

Real Or Fake?
The question that one might ask about these pictures on Reddit is if they are real or not. If they are real, then this Tesla employee is risking their employment by revealing them.
Nevertheless, it has garnered quite a bit of attention from those looking for the new Model Y Juniper. It's also important to note that Tesla constantly updates their vehicles.
Even a Tesla purchased from month to month will be improved from past versions of that Tesla vehicle.
The second picture shows the person inside the Tesla Model Y, supposedly the Juniper refresh, working on something with the electronic controls and seeing a light bar on the side of the door. You can see that here.
I am actually inclined to personally believe that this might be a real picture of the Model Y refresh. It's halfway through the year 2024, and I'm not sure if we are going to see the refresh this year, but, we could see it early next year, along with Tesla's suite of new compact vehicles.
The Juniper will most likely have a new battery and I wouldn't be surprised to see an improved rear-wheel drive long range version, similar to how the Model 3 now has a rear-wheel drive long range version at 363 miles. The Model Y version will likely be around 330 miles for its rear-wheel drive long range version, assuming that there is one produced.
I'd also expect the new Model Y refresh to have a screen in the back, just like the Model 3 Highland has.
That's about all we know about this Reddit post - it's pure speculation at this point, but interesting to see the new backside of the car with the Tesla emblem as well as the light bar on the inside of the door.

What do you think - is this a real Model Y refresh from a Tesla employee, or did someone make this up?
