Could you live in just a CyberTruck with a camper? How much would it cost? What would be available to you? How much room would you have? Let's take a look!

Let's take a look and see what it would take to live in your CyberTruck with a camper and if this would be a sustainable lifestyle. We'll take what we know, add in a little theory and speculation, and come up with cost, space/room, and available utilities/amenities.

The CyberTruck

Tesla's upcoming CyberTruck will be an all-electric, futuristic version of a pickup truck. Even the single motor will be capable of pulling a simple trailer, while the tri-motor will be capable of hauling the biggest trailers you can find. The cost of the CyberTruck will range from $39,900 (single motor) to $69,900 (tri-motor). You will also be able to get FSD, currently $10,000 upfront.

I have a CyberTruck on order with a tri-motor and FSD (full self-driving). After all fees, taxes, etc.., I am expecting my total cost to be around $88,000. I plan on putting $40,000 down, which will give me a $48,000 loan at Tesla's roughly 2.65% interest rate. That gives a base monthly payment of about $666.

What Will Come With the CyberTruck?

What will come with the CyberTruck? Will you be able to sleep in the CyberTruck? I am 6'4'' and it doesn't look like I will have room inside the CyberTruck to sleep. What about the flatbed behind the truck, could I cover that and put a mattress on it? The flatbed is supposedly 6 1/2 feet long, 2 inches longer than I am tall. For me, it would be a tight fit, but for most other people, I think you could put a mattress on the truck and a cover and be able to sleep there.

I think it would be nice if there was some kind of add-on that Tesla eventually had that was an option for an extendable trailer for the flatbed of the truck.

The Cyberlandr is the best example of this. It's a compact, efficient use of space for a home office, entertainment, bathroom, cooking, and sleeping. It supposedly allows for folding everything up and the size of a queen-sized bed to sleep in. There's also a shower and toilet. It has everything! However, one can get a gym membership from $20 on the low-end to $100 on the high-end to take care of any showering/cleanliness needs if desired. If the solar panels are efficient, that's a nice way to keep power running without extra cost.

You could also get a Starlink satelite for Internet when it is globally available to satisfy all your Internet needs for $100.

Let's call the Cyberlandr $49,995. It's a nice to have and if you can find a way to create a bed on the truck with your own covering, you could get away with not having it. As far as campers go, this one is pretty good and very compact, not taking up a lot of space.

Where Could You Park to Live?

Where could you take your CyberTruck to live and work in your home office? Parking lots would be fine during the day, but can be crowded, noisy, are surveyed, and you might get kicked out. You could find a relative or friend who has driveway space, or a backyard patio and camp out there. But you're still at the whims of someone else and their property.

How about a small plot of land to rent? Costs for a tiny house land rent tend to range from $300 to $600 a month and that doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. You could just rent an apartment or buy some land.

Could you buy a small plot of land to park your CyberTruck with camper on? I think that option makes more sense. An acre of land is more than enough space at 66 feet by 220 yards (about 2 football fields). Plots of land will vary depending on where you live from $4,000 to several hundred thousand if you live in California.

The best bet here for a nomad who wants to travel around would be to visit campsites, or find friends/relatives where you can park your CyberTruck and not have to worry about buying land or paying rent. If you wanted to buy your own land, it will just cost extra. Let's call this a one time cost of $20,000.

Summary

A basic CyberTruck will cost you $39,990.
A Cyberlandr camper will cost you $49,995.
A plot of land will cost around $20,000 (depending on location and the market).
Starlink Internet: $100 (when it is available)

This means you could set yourself up to live in a CyberTruck, with permanent residence, for about $110,005 + $100/month for Internet. In this case, it may be better to buy a tiny house and live in that on a plot of land purchased. But then again, there are a lot of zoning laws that have to be considered as well.

Hopefully some of these ideas give you inspiration if you're wondering if you can live in a CyberTruck or not!

What do you think about the CyberTruck? Is it something you could live in with a Cyberlandr or other camper? Could you buy some land and live in your CyberTruck there?

Cyberlander is too expensive. Soon the cybertruck will be powered by the Ecat which will eliminate the need for solar panels!
