STOP - Before You Buy A CCS Adapter For Your Cybertruck - You Need A Special CCS Adapter That Tesla Doesn't Sell

If you're looking to get a CCS adapter for your Cybertruck, be sure not to buy the one on Tesla's website, as that is not compatible. Here's how you can find a CCS adapter that works with the Cybertruck.

The CCS adapter that Tesla is currently selling for $125 via its website only works with the Model S, 3, X, and Y. It does not work with the Cybertruck at this time and Tesla even calls this out on its website like so:

The CCS Combo 1 Adapter is not compatible with Cybertruck. Some vehicles may require additional hardware. Sign in to the Tesla app to check your vehicle's compatibility and schedule a Service retrofit if needed.

It begs the question, what do you do if you want to use a CCS adapter for your Cybertruck? Are you out of luck? Fortunately, we have some answers.

Over on the Cybertruck forum on Facebook, a Cybertruck owner asked the following question:

Is there an extended CCS1 adapter I can purchase for a cybertruck? I’m bought the adapter but realized the charge port on the truck is not flush out so it won’t fit in.

He was told to look on Amazon - however, Francis, the Cybertruck owner who made this original post, quickly responded saying he could not find it on Amazon. John, who told him to get it there, then gave him a link to buy the CCS adapter on Amazon.

You can use that link HERE to buy the CCS adapter for the Cybertruck.

It's important to know that it costs around $100 to $200 and isn't always available. If you're looking to get it on Amazon, you'll want to subscribe to the notification for it when it's available.

This one was available, with shipping time about 7 to 10 days out.

You're going to want to look for a CCS adapter that is an upgraded 2 in 1 CCS & J1772 to Tesla Adapter, 250KW SuperFast CCS1 to Tesla Charging Adapter.

There was a bit of a debate among the forum users, where one said this type of CCS adapter wouldn't work, but another said that it does work on his Cybertruck for him. His had a longer "neck" and the trim of the Cybertruck did not get in the way.

John Zweber who confirmed that the CCS adapter posted in an image, the one from Amazon, was indeed the one he has and works for the Cybertruck.

He then posted a link to this CCS adapter, which says it is compatible with Tesla vehicles.

So, now we have a third link to a CCS adapter, so how do you know which one works with the Cybertruck? John Zweber sais the one he has works, and it has a cover for the J1772 that he has to lift to connect with CCS. The brand was Exogenix.

Here is the Amazon CCS adapter next to Tesla's CCS adapter:

You can see the one on the right, which John Zweber says is from Amazon is smaller and has a shorter plug-in, and smaller base. He even shared a video of this adapter plugging right into his Cybertruck without any problems.

Lastly, A2Z has one that you can get here. However, this one has not been verified to work with the Cybertruck.

If you're going to get a CCS adapter for the Cybertruck, it looks like your best bet is to get one on Amazon and find one that looks like the one from the image on the right here.

Best of luck to you!

Why doesn't Tesla make a CCS adapter for the Cybertruck?
