Tesla and SpaceX share some amazing synergy - SpaceX uses Tesla motors and Tesla uses SpaceX steel. The two will continue to share knowledge and components.

Tesla and SpaceX share knowledge and components with each other. Tesla Cybertrucks have been seen hauling SpaceX rockets, and SpaceX uses Tesla electric motors for its Starship rocket. It's a win-win for both companies. Here's the many ways the companies are synergistic, giving each an even stronger competitive advantage than they would on their own.

Tesla's Help in Space

  • Battery Power: SpaceX uses Tesla's battery technology for their rockets. Batteries are crucial for storing energy for rocket launches and powering spacecraft. Imagine having the same batteries that make electric cars go, now helping rockets reach space! Batteries will likely be used in rockets much more in the future as the technology improves. However, Elon Musk has said that propellant will be needed for the foreseeable future to generate the needed thrust to escape earth's gravity.
  • Car Parts: Believe it or not, SpaceX uses car parts from Tesla. These aren't just any parts; we're talking about parts for vehicles that astronauts might use, like the Tesla Model X which astronauts have ridden to the launch pad. This shows how car tech can be used for space travel - by transporting others in an energy efficient way. The Starship rocket utilizes Tesla motors in order to move around the fins needed to do a landing catch with the giant chopsticks of the tower.
