When you see a list of the most American made cars, Tesla takes the top 4 spots.

Most American Auto Manufacturer By Far

According to Cars.com, Tesla is the most American made auto manufacturer, and it is not even close.

Looking at the top 4 spots for auto sales of American made cars in the U.S., it's clear to see that Tesla is the most American made auto manufacturer.

In the top 4 spots are Tesla vehicles and in fact, right now, these are the only vehicles Tesla makes. Each of their vehicles is a category killer.

What does that mean? It means Tesla is going after 1 vehicle per segment instead of multiple variations which add complexity, and the strategy is working so far.

The Tesla Model Y, Model 3, Model X, and Model S are in the top 4 spots respectively.

Will Cybertruck Make The List?

Tesla isn't going to stop here. The Cybertruck is coming, and it could come as soon as this quarter in 2023. When the Cybertruck launches, it won't immediately make this list.

However, I can see it making this list in 2024 and even overtaking the Model Y in the U.S., where trucks are a hot item for people to buy.

As Tesla ramps production of the Cybertruck, I can see it being in the number one spot and the Model Y being number two - in the United States. Throughout the world, the Model Y will still be the bestseller overall.

That is, until Tesla releases their compact vehicles - a smaller version of the Model Y and Model 3. These vehicles are then going to take the top two spots, and we'll have the top 7 auto cars sold being made in the U.S., from Tesla.

Then, you have the sub-compact, and things just get ridiculous from there. The sub-compact SUV and sedan will take over the 1 and 2 spots, and we'll have the top 9 cars being Tesla vehicles. Then add in the Tesla van. Now 10.
