There are some common complaints and concerns people have with Tesla vehicles. We debunk them here.
Top 3 Concerns
Myth #1: What Happens When It Runs Out of Charge?
When a Tesla vehicle runs out of charge, newer models have a little bit of a buffer of Energy to go longer. If you do happen to run completely out of charge, you can have your car towed to a Tesla service center. I've never run out of charge on my Model 3 RWD and I don't use home charging at all.
A gas car can run out of gas just as easily and need to get a gas can or extra fuel source to get the car going.
Myth #2: The Model X Doors Don't Look Safe - They Can Crush a Finger
The Model X has falcon wing doors that open and close by going up and down, unlike most doors which open from side to side. However, it's important to note that with any doors, whether they be falcon wing doors, side to side doors, or any other door on an EV or gas car, not paying attention can get your finger crushed.
Myth #3: In the Model S and Model X - What Happens If Your Screen Freezes and You Can't Change Gears?
It is true that the Model S and Model X with the newest versions use the center console screen to shift gears on the left-hand side. If the screen is disabled for any reason, you can still shift gears using options below the wireless chargers.
Any gas car can also have issues with gears and transmission. What happens if your gear selector breaks?

Myth #4: The White Seats Can Get Filthy
Tesla vehicles have an option to get white seats in the interior. It is true that these can get dirty, and it is also true that any other seat color or type can get dirty, whether it is in an EV or a gas car.
Having a white seat at least lets you better see what is on the seat in order to clean it.
Myth #5: Why Should I Have to Control My Mirrors With a Screen?
Tesla vehicles use the center console to control just about everything. While it is true that the steering wheel has a couple stalks and options, depending on the model of the vehicle, the center console screen is where you want to make changes.
The center screen is a good way to adjust mirrors because you are doing it once and are done. Why waste space with buttons just for this one time event?
Myth #6: It's Not Safe Having Air Conditioning Adjusted Using the Screen
There are complaints that in order to adjust the air temperature of the Tesla that you have to fiddle with the center screen while driving. There's actually a simple solution to this:
* Tap the right scroll wheel and say, "I'm hot" - the temperature will be reduced by 3 degrees.
* Tap the right scroll wheel and say, "I'm cold" - the temperature will be increased by 3 degrees
Bonus Myth #7: The Yoke Isn't Safe
Many people are driving with the Model S and Model X steering wheel yoke and doing just fine. You can have a safe hand position with them the same with a regular steering wheel, and you can also drive with an unsafe hand position with the yoke or a regular steering wheel.
