Oversteer is one of those things that auto enthusiasts enjoy because of tire smoke and how cool it looks. But it is only fun when you cause it. It isn't as fun when it decides to surprise you.
Porsche has issued a recall on the 2017 Macan for surprise oversteer. In a recall notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the issue deals with the front anti-roll bar. It could have faulty connecting links that can move and cause the anti-roll bar not to work. If this happens, there will be a rattling noise coming from the front and the increased possibility of the vehicle oversteering in spirited driving.
The good news is there are no accidents linked to this issue. Also, the number of vehicles involved are quite small - only 243 Macans built between July 30th and August 9th. This problem isn't limited to just a particular trim.
Porsche will be notifying affected owners in the near future, although a notification schedule hasn't been announced. Dealers will inspect the anti-roll bar and replace the links.
If you have questions on the recall, you are asked to call Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243 and mention recall number AG06.
