If you happen to be the owner of a 2014 to 2016 Maserati Ghibli or Quattroporte, you'll want to be paying close attention to this news.

Maserati is recalling 26,464 Ghibli and Quattroporte sedans due to a problem with the rear suspension. According to a recall notice on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration site, the issue deals with a bolt that secures the tie rod to hub carrier assembly not properly tightened. If the bolt wasn't tightened, the tie rod could separate from the hub carrier assembly, causing the loss of control and possibly a crash.

The good news is that there have been no accidents or injuries due to this issue. Maserati found out about the issue during an investigation into reports of excessive noise.

Maserati dealers will inspect the bolts on the tie rod to hub carrier assembly to make sure they are properly tightened. Dealers will also replace the assembly if necessary, free of charge.

The recall will begin in July. If you have any questions, you are being asked to call Maserati's customer service at 1-201-510-2369 and mention recall number 303.
