We have been waiting for Audi to announce details of the updated A3 Sportback e-tron since announcing the 2017 A3 and S3 sedans. Today, the german automaker spilled the beans.
Like the sedan, the Sportback e-tron features Audi's new grille and revised headlights. The interior comes with the option of Audi's virtual cockpit that replaces the standard instrument cluster for a 12.3 display that provides reconfigurable gauges and the ability to bring up the navigation. Other technology features include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, Audi Connect Prime services, and Audi pre sense front (automatically apply the brakes if it detects an obstruction).
If you want your A3 Sportback e-tron to stand out further, you can option a new Sport package that adds 18-inch wheels, S-line roof spoiler, flat-bottom steering wheel, and a set of sport seats.
Power still comes from a 1.4-liter TFSI engine paired with an electric motor to produce a total output of 204 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. We don't have official EPA figures or if the electric-only range of 16 miles has improved.
As for pricing, the 2017 Audi A3 Sportback e-tron will set you back $39,850 for the base Premium model (includes a $950 destination charge). This rises to $48,500 for the top Prestige trim.
