We knew that the clock was ticking for the Hyundai Genesis Coupe and now we know when it will say good-bye.
Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail reports that the Genesis Coupe will bid adieu after the 2016 model year. This information comes from Hyundai Canada spokesman Chad Heard.
The Truth About Cars was able to confirm this news with Christine Henley, PR manager for Hyundai Motor America. Henley also revealed that a replacement under the Genesis brand will be coming.
“A new, more sophisticated and luxurious coupe appropriate for the new Genesis brand is currently under development,” said Henley.
The writing has been the wall for the Genesis coupe for a few years now. With a new Genesis sedan introduced a couple of years back and the Genesis name becoming a new luxury brand last year, the clock started ticking down.
Thanks a leaked roadmap back in May, we know a new coupe will arrive in 2020.

I wanted so badly to like
I wanted so badly to like that car. On paper it is the cat's pajamas. However, when I drove it the feel was just not special. This from a guy that LOVES the Sonata 2.0T, Santa Fe Sport and even the Elantra Limited.
