2025 Genesis GV80 3.5T Prestige - AWD Review and Owner Impressions

We offer an unusual format of a review with the GV80 from Genesis. We drive it ourselves and also interview an owner.

Jackie Ferrara is a member of the Torque News Friends and Family community. This summer, she and her husband were shopping for a replacement for their Audi and gave Genesis a try. Due in large part to an unusual but outstanding dealership experience, they drove home in a 2024 GV80 3.5T. This is the couple’s first Genesis. They have previously owned or leased Audi, Lexus, Lincoln, and Infinity vehicles. As it turned out, Jackie was visiting me the very week that I was testing a Geneis GV80, so we will create a hybrid review here.

2025 Genesis GV80 3.5T - What Is It?
The Genesis GV80 is a five-passenger mid/full-size luxury SUV. 3.5T refers to the engine size (3.5-liter V6), and the T means turbocharged. Our tester and Ms. Ferrara’s are equipped with the engine.

2025 Genesis GV80 3.5T - How Much Does It Cost?
We asked Ms. Ferrara what her GV80 cost, and she said, “Around $80K.” Using the Build tool on the public Genesis site we configured a Prestige trim with AWD and came up with a price for the 2025 model year vehicle of $80,650, including freight, but less any added dealer doc fees and content.

2025 Genesis GV80 3.5T - How’s It Drive?
We found the GV80 to be very comfortable and very spacious for four passengers. We love the little touches like the controls on the upper side of the passenger seat that face the driver. The seats are heated and ventilated and have a sort of massage function. One guest we had in the car, himself the owner of a V8-powered Genesis sedan, said, “I’m amazed at how quiet it is!”

Smooth, luxurious pampering is the theme, and Genesis does this as well as any brand in any price point. “We often have a couple of guests in our car, and the Lincoln was just a smidge too small,” said Jackie. “We chose a larger vehicle this time because we want to be able to make long drives from Vegas to Palm Springs in complete comfort for everyone in the vehicle.”

2025 Genesis GV80 3.5T - The Buying Process
Genesis is in the process of expanding its dealership network and separating its retail locations from Hyundai dealership facilities. “When we pulled up to the Genesis dealer in Nevada, it was under construction, and we actually met our sales associate inside a trailer,” Jackie said. “Despite this weird situation, Patrick Beckner of Genesis of Las Vegas was amazing. He knew everything about this car, and we felt as if he was one of the big reasons we closed the deal on that visit rather than head over to Mercedes, which was to be our next stop.”

2025 Genesis GV80 3.5T - The Verdict
Jackie told us, “We love the Genesis GV80. It is exactly what we wanted and more.” My own analysis of the GV80 is also positive. If you are looking for a spacious five-passenger luxury SUV with a top-notch ownership experience, it is a model you must check out.
