Visitors to the Chicago Auto Show get to see the refreshed 2022 Jeep Compass. The popular global seller features a slick new interior, with double the storage. It also has a new exterior to look more like the rest of the Jeep line-up.
Jeep has revamped its popular 2022 Jeep Compass adding more technology, more space and more performance. It even looks more like its Jeep brothers and sisters. Its already Jeep’s best- selling model globally and it is ready to conquer even more of the compact SUV market. The 2022 Jeep Compass will be available in five distinctly different trim levels: Sport, Latitude, new Latitude LUX, Limited and the rugged Trail Rated Trailhawk.
“When redesigning the 2022 Jeep Compass, the goal was to create a visual differentiation to express and celebrate the vehicle’s unique on-road and off-road personalities,” said Tim Anness, Director of Core Design Group. “There’s a noticeable transformation when you see the new Compass driving toward you, and it’s even more evident when you compare on- and off-road models side-by-side. The new front appearances for both are undeniably Jeep, but now are expressively different to reflect a spirit of individuality.”
2022 Jeep Compass New Technology
Jeep has added all sorts of connectivity to the refreshed Compass. It is the most technologically advanced Compass, yet. It has a new 10.1-inch center stack display, including a new available 10.25-inch frameless full-color digital cluster. It also offers the latest version of Uconnect 5, which is five times faster than the previous version. The new Compass offers more than 75 advanced safety and security features – the most available safety features in its class. It even has a cyclist and pedestrian warning system. A new highway semi-autonomous driving system is scheduled to be offered later in 2022.
Some of the new Compass standard safety features include: Full-speed Collision Warning with active brake and pedestrian/cyclist detection, Active Lane Management with LaneSense Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist and Blind-spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path detection. The new Highway Assist semi-autonomous driving system delivers hands-on-wheel and eyes-on-road automated driving. Jeep says it will have late availability. A new driver-assist feature is Traffic Sign Recognition. The feature displays supplemental speed limit sign information to the customer for weather, trailering, school and work zone conditions. In addition to speed limit information, Do Not Pass signs are also displayed to the driver.
“The new 2022 Jeep Compass ushers in new levels of comfort and functionality, with premium styling and craftsmanship inside and out. A stunning new interior design and the addition of several standard advanced safety features make it even more desirable in the compact SUV segment,” said Jim Morrison Vice President, Jeep Brand North America. “Sophisticated and well equipped, the Compass stays true to its benchmark 4x4 capability and on-road dynamics, but with even more refinement and precision. It also boasts a host of new attributes and innovative technologies designed to keep consumers connected and make their lives easier.”
2022 Jeep Compass Redesigned Interior
The 2022 Jeep Compass has been reconfigured on the inside, giving the driver loads more storage space, double the storage space of earlier versions. It also looks much more modern and in keeping with its new technology. Some models offer leather interior and heated front and rear seats.
“When designing the 2022 Jeep Compass interior, we aspired to breathe new life into all aspects of the vehicle, including shapes, surfaces and textures, to make it feel spacious and luxurious. The result is a modern, sophisticated environment with signature Jeep design elements, high-quality materials and state-of-the-art technology,” said Chris Benjamin, Director of Interior Design, North America. “Our goal was to raise consumer expectations of what a compact SUV interior should look and feel like.”
The 2022 Compass is a Jeep at heart. It offers two different Jeep 4x4 systems and Selec-Terrain traction management to guarantee its Jeep off-road capability. New LED headlights give double the illumination in front of the vehicle, while minimizing glare for oncoming traffic. Side lighting improves visibility while cornering and is activated by either turning on the blinkers or turning the steering wheel.
The Jeep Compass comes with the 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder engine. The 4x2 models get up to 31 miles per gallon highway, giving it a highway driving range of over 400 miles. The 4x4 models have a maximum towing capacity of up to 2,000 pounds. The I-4 engine has 177 horsepower and 172 lb.-ft. of torque. The 2022 Jeep Compass starts at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $24,995, plus $1,495 destination, for the 4x2 Sport version. It runs all the way up to $31,395, plus $1,495 destination, for either the Trailhawk or Limited model.
