The three-row 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L has been in high demand since it was announced. Now, it is finally getting to dealers.
Since the moment the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L was announced, in January, it has been highly anticipated. Now, the three-row Jeep Grand Cherokee L is finally arriving at dealerships across the country. Jeep has been keeping plants like the one in Belvidere, Illinois, that builds the smaller Cherokee closed to conserve semiconductor chips and focusing on building the high-demand Jeep Grand Cherokee L.
Grand Cherokee’s Importance
The Grand Cherokee L is packed with a number of new technologies, but it is clear from the design that it is a Jeep through-and-through. The exterior design screams Jeep and includes all the major Jeep design cues like the signature seven-slot-grille and wheel arches. Jeep has sold 7 million Grand Cherokees over the last 30-years, but the design team was very careful to not make this the same Grand Cherokee with just an added row of seats. The interior is designed to include the latest technology, wrapped in premium luxury.
Jeep has had nearly 5,000 employees working three shifts, at its Detroit Assembly Complex, cranking out the new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The company’s challenge was to deliver the four-wheel-drive capability in a larger, luxurious package. Jeep’s well-known 4x4 systems (Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II), Quadra-Lift air suspension and Selec-Terrain traction management system give the Grand Cherokee L the Jeep’s legendary 4x4 capability. An all-new architecture and aerodynamic body style combine to improve vehicle performance, safety and reliability.
2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Allows Jeep to Compete in the Full-size SUV Market
The ability to take on other full-size vehicles is incredibly important for Jeep and the added third row gives them that. Ford has done extremely well with the Explorer, likewise Chevy has done well with the seven-passenger Traverse. This Grand Cherokee L plants Jeep right in the heart of the segment and gives Jeep lovers the ability to move to a larger vehicle as they grow their family.
A Different Trim Level For Every Budget
The Jeep Grand Cherokee L is equipped with more than 110 safety and security features. It also has available driver-assist systems and 360-degree surround view and night vision cameras. Drivers can also opt for a digital rearview mirror and a rear seat monitoring camera.
Prices for the different trim packages range from the Laredo model, starting at $36,995 (all prices exclude $1,695 destination fee) and run all the way up to $65,290 for the luxurious Summit Reserve trim, 4x4 model with a V-8 engine. There are several different models available, including the Laredo, Limited, Overland and Summit models. Jeep is promising that the new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L will bring new safety features while also being equipped with the latest Uconnect 5 infotainment system.
Incredible Timing
The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L will hit dealer lots during an incredible shortage of both new and used vehicles. Not only did the pandemic close most assembly plants for a while but the semiconductor chip shortage has also prevented automakers from producing as many vehicles as they would normally. The Grand Cherokee L should be able to take advantage of the timing sell virtually every vehicle made. Unfortunately, for buyers, most will sell for top dollar. Rarely is a new vehicle’s timing perfect. The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee should be red hot this summer.
