Jeep adds a turbocharger and more horsepower to the 2023 Jeep Compass.
Jeep redesigned the Compass 4x4 in 2022, really upgrading the interior and beefing up the Trailhawk model to be a true competitor. The one thing the Compass was missing was a spunkier engine. New for 2023, Jeep is adding some zip to the Compass 4x4. The 2023 Jeep Compass now has an advanced 2.0-liter Turbocharged Engine for better horsepower, torque and performance.
“We’ve received tremendous customer feedback on the Jeep Compass’ new interior and all the high-tech features, and now we have the opportunity to showcase the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine standard on all Compass models for the 2023 model year,” said Jim Morrison, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America. “I can’t wait for customers to take it for a spin, because not only is it more powerful, it’s also really fun to drive.”

That is a step up from the 2022 model with 177 horsepower and 172 lb.-ft. of torque. The Jeep Active Drive 4x4 system will now be standard on all models. The Trailhawk version has a 30-degree approach angle, 24-degree breakover angle and 34-degree departure angle.
Jeep has added even more advanced safety features that will be standard across all trims. Drowsy driver detection, rear seat reminder alert and security alarm will give owners added protection. A 360-degree Surround View Camera which gives the driver a view of everything around the vehicle will be available on Latitude models and above.
