Ram is revealing a view of the front bumper and tire.
Ram has dropped yet another tease on social media this week, promising a special truck delivery for April 25, 2024. Many believe the new truck is the substitute for Ram's TRX called the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO.
The most recent tease again shows the top-secret truck riding on a flatbed. The short video clip has actor Glen Powell lifting the camouflage cover a little to reveal a corner of the fascia and a portion of the wheel and tire. The tease has the tagline “Sorry, You’re going to have to wait.” The tease shows what is supposed to be a Ram testing facility. The tire has what appears to be beadlock wheels which would suggest great off-road performance. Fans like Brickhead07 are convinced “It’s the RHO, Six Cylinder TRX replacement”.
Ram Needs a Strong Replacement for the TRX
An earlier tease shows a convoy with a pickup truck on a flatbed covered in camouflage. The caption is “When delivering a package this top secret, a little backup never hurts.” Many online fans are theorizing that the top-secret delivery is the new 2025 Ram RHO, with the Hurricane six-cylinder engine that replaces the popular Ram TRX powerhouse. Ram, like the other Stellantis brands, is phasing out the huge HEMI engines and replacing them with the more fuel efficient Straight-Six Turbo (SST) engines .
2025 Ram Engine Lineup
In announcing the 2025 Ram trucks, Ram said:
“The 2025 Ram 1500 offers customers three engine options, including the all-new 3.0-liter Hurricane and 3.0-liter Hurricane High Output (H/O) Straight-Six Turbo (SST) engines from the Stellantis Hurricane Twin-turbo family, the most powerful six cylinders in the segment, and the award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 eTorque. The all-new 3.0-liter Hurricane engine is rated at 420 horsepower and 469 lb.-ft. of torque, while the High Output engine is rated at 540 horsepower and 521 lb.-ft. of torque. Capability includes a maximum towing capacity of 11,580 pounds, a maximum payload of 2,300 pounds and up to 24 inches of water fording.
In Q3 2024, a new Ram 1500 RHO will join the lineup with the 540-horsepower Hurricane H/O, reinforcing America’s leading off-road and performance truck lineup.”
The 2025 Ram 1500 RHO will blast in with 540 horsepower and although it won’t exactly replace the TRX, it will give truck owners a viable high horsepower option. The TRX was phased out at the end of 2023. The supertruck was rated at 702 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque with the 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V-8 engine.
Timing is Right for the Launch of the RHO
It makes sense that Ram would be launching the RHO now because it is supposed to be available by the third quarter of the year. Unveiling it now would give Ram the time to take orders and have them ready by then. The actor in the tease has a new sci-fi action movie called ‘Running Man’ coming out so the timing works well for his career. The movie is a remake of the Arnold Schwarzenegger action film.
An earlier tease for this week’s top-secret delivery showed a Ram Rebel hauling the camouflaged truck on a flatbed and said “Special delivery arriving 4.25”.
So far, Ram isn’t releasing any details about where and when the top-secret truck will break cover, but we’ll have details for you here as soon as they become available.
