Ram is giving drivers the option of buying new performance editions without going full TRX-mode. The best part is that the 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie G/T and Rebel G/T deliver performance straight from the factory.
Ram is out with two new performance editions that are sure to excite truck lovers. The 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie G/T and the 2022 Ram 1500 Rebel G/T will give buyers features like a special sport hood, paddle shifters, a console-mounted floor shifter and performance pages all straight from the factory. Highlights also include a cold-end exhaust and cold-air intake. The special custom touches will be added in Ram’s custom shop located right near the factory where the 2022 Ram 1500s are built in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
“Ram has a strong history of performance trucks and the Laramie G/T and Rebel G/T models add to that while expanding the light-duty lineup with the segment’s best combination of performance, capability, luxury and technology,” said Mike Koval Jr., Ram Brand Chief Executive Officer – Stellantis. “Ram 1500 G/T buyers will enjoy this combination of performance and luxury that the newest additions to our versatile lineup offer.”
Special 2022 Ram 1500 G/T Features
2022 Ram 1500 G/T models have a sport performance hood and G/T decals to distinguish them from the rest of the Rebel and Laramie vehicles. A factory-installed Mopar cold-end exhaust and cold-air intake are also standard. Performance pages are included on the 2022 Ram 1500 G/T as standard equipment and give drivers the ability to monitor their vehicle’s performance. The app provides real-time vehicle performance information, including timers (such as 0-60 mph elapsed time), g-force, gauges and engine performance. The data can even be downloaded to a USB stick, allowing for easy sharing of driving performance.
The 2022 Ram 1500 G/T models will have a number of features that previously were only available on the TRX models. Along with the paddle shifters and performance shifter, the G/T versions will also have a metal pedal kit. The G/T models will have special bucket seats with the G/T logo.
Ram has had tremendous success offering highly customized vehicles straight from the factory. The trucks have all of their special Mopar accessories like the cold-air intake and cold-end exhaust installed by factory-trained specialists in facilities right near the plants. All of the custom additions are covered by the factory warranty and the cost of the accessories is built into the cost of the vehicle. Many buyers like the idea of being able to pay for the customization over the life of the vehicle instead of having to pay up front for the special accessories like the performance exhaust or custom shifter.
The 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie G/T and Rebel G/T are available in a Crew Cab configuration with the 5.7-liter V-8 with eTorque mild-hybrid assist. The trucks will go on sale in the third quarter. The Ram 1500 Laramie G/T has a starting manufacturer's suggested retail price of $55,480 and the 2022 Ram 1500 Rebel G/T starts at $55,375. Both exclude a $1,695 destination fee.
