See the 2024 Tacoma feature that is much smaller than last year. But is it important?
Toyota Tacoma is redesigned for 2024 and it is completely changed from the ground up. And what a difference from last year.
Already the best-selling midsize truck in the country, Tacoma fans and enthusiasts were wondering how Toyota engineers would craft the new design. And for the most part, I have been seeing mostly positive reviews.
Strongly positive reviews, in fact.
2024 Toyota Tacoma
I was invited to evaluate 2024 Tacoma for myself in Hawaii a month ago, and I came away completely blown away. We now have a tough, macho, and imposing exterior styling.
And an interior that is modernized with all-new technology, safety, features, systems, and off-roading tools.
Plus, eight different trim levels are offered, each with their own individual and unique looks and vibes. You can choose from SR, SR5, TRD PreRunner, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited, the overland capable Trailhunter, and iconic TRD Pro (3 of these trims have a lot more storage room).

And remember the big increase in power between generations. For 2023, drivers could expect 278 horsepower and 265 lb.-ft. torque across all grades. In 2024, with the i-FORCE MAX option, look for a whopping 326 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. torque.
Huge power increase, my friends.
2024 Toyota Tacoma Changes
Naturally, when a wildly popular vehicle is redesigned, there will be things fans both like and dislike.
No vehicle is 100 percent perfect, of course.
You will find so many aspects to enjoy and love about 2024 Toyota Tacoma, but there is one (perhaps insignificant) change you may not like as much.
When comparing the new 2024 Tacoma design against the (current) 2023 Tacoma, I noticed one feature that is clearly smaller than last year.
The sliding rear window.
2024 Tacoma Rear Window
The 2024 Toyota Tacoma sliding rear window is not as large in size as 2023. This new slider is not as tall vertically. It is also rounded versus more squared off for 2023.
The question is, is this change an important factor, or is it relatively unimportant.
I know a lot of truck owners enjoy opening their rear windows to allow air for their back seat passengers, like children, and for their furry traveling companions.
Will those people mind the updated design or not really at all? For me, it would only matter if the smaller window hinders my visibility in any way. I do not expect it will but I also do not know for sure.
Time for Your Toyota Tacoma Comments
I was so impressed with the all-new 2024 Tacoma that it was challenging finding things I did not really care for. Toyota engineers really outdid themselves and should be proud.
Toyota Tacoma is scheduled for release later this year (gasoline-only – the hybrid i-FORCE MAX will be launched early 2024). I could not be more excited to drive this one for myself when it is available for the media drive.
What things do you like so far about Toyota Tacoma 2024 and what things are you not as excited for? Does the sliding rear window even matter to you if it is smaller than last year, or is that a non-factor in your decision to buy or not buy?
