2023 Toyota Camry is ready for changes. Is this the last of V6?
New Toyota Camry shipments are starting to arrive. Toyota dealerships across the country have been welcoming 2023 Camry arrivals these last few weeks. And although there are not major changes, we certainly have plenty to discuss.
2023 Camry Changes
This is not a model year for a complete Toyota Camry redesign. We are not getting a vehicle refresh either.
However, the Camry SE Nightshade Edition is new and looks fantastic. Buyers can find this eye-catching beauty in SE front-wheel drive, SE all-wheel drive, and SE Hybrid.
The 2023 Toyota Camry TRD has a new signature color – Underground. Also, look for a new red and black striped seat insert design.
We will find Cavalry Blue moving across the board from Camry TRD in 2022 to Camry SE and Camry XSE sedans for 2023.
But what about the V6 engine – where can we find it for 2023 Camry?
2023 Toyota Camry Engine
People interested in more power than the typical 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine Camry may want to step up to the V6 engine. As in previous years, this V6 can be found on Camry XLE, Camry XSE, and Camry TRD.
Look for a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 301 horsepower and 267 lb.-ft. torque. The V6 rides smooth and comfortable with solid acceleration.
I recently reviewed a 2023 Camry XLE V6 for my “ToyotaJeff Reviews” YouTube channel. I hope you find my video interesting and helpful in your vehicle research.
Outlook for 2024 Toyota Camry
Even though I do not have any specific information confirming or denying this, my hunch is we will have a newly redesigned 2024 Camry.
Toyota Camry was last redesigned for the 2018 model year. Things may be leaning in the direction of a new body style based on this cycle alone. It just feels like it is time.
Plus, in a year when just about every other Toyota model is receiving the new Toyota Audio Multimedia system, 2023 Camry did not (well, along with Tacoma and 4Runner and Sienna). Is this a sign that we are due a more imminent “new Toyota Camry”?
I would assume (for now at least) that Camry will not carry over the V6 engine, but will rather choose a turbocharged four-cylinder instead for its power and efficiency. Highlander opted for a turbo four instead of its tried-and-true V6 for 2023. It just makes sense that Camry follows suit.
So, if you really want to purchase Toyota Camry with a V6 engine, my advice is to jump sooner than later.
